  Had you bothered to look up the reference you would have found it was used as a term of ENDEARMENT not an insult.....

  And I DID address the subject, you made a simple assumption that, if you miss a downhill putt long, that the hole must then be above you.  

  I've seen many holes that are both uphill on either side or downhill on either side, in other words the hole can be on top of a ridge or in a valley.

  I talk about belittlement (is endearment much difference?), not of an insult.

  I talk about BPB#13 (look at the subject), not of "many" greens,

  I talk about facts, not assumptions: Look at the 5th picture in my document and tell me that the hole (BPB#13 front pin) is in a valley, that it's "down" from both sides, left and right in that view.

  This is the starting point (center / back side). If you miss long from there you are at the place I'm talking about: short of the hole from the front of the green, facing an uphill putt with fairway and bunker in your back.

  As English does not appear to be your first language let me clarify,

  belittlement means to represent or speak of as contemptibly small or unimportant; to disparage

  An endearment is a word or phrase that shows love or affection. A special word or name that friends use when they speak to each other is sometimes called a term of endearment. 

  As you can see they are POLAR OPPOSITES.

  I DID try to view your pictures but the link you provided wanted me to install some kind of software or download something that I am unwilling to do.

  Perhaps if you really wanted help, or sympathy, or an explanation you could have posted the pictures in your message instead of linking to a site that requires installing software that may contain malware or a virus.

  You should try Photobucket, Imageshack, Flickr, or Picasa and copy the pictures link to your message instead. Like this from the green at BPB13:

  It looks as if we are saying the same thing!

  When you mentioned missing long/pass long earlier, I had assumed you mean with your approach shot to the green, you are referencing after you are on the green, past the hole, then missing the putt past the hole coming down.

  You read what you want and not what I write, don't you?

  How comes that both pictures show a red grid behind the player? Red is downhill, isn't it?

  You don't show the putts from both sides but only one putt. The grid shows it as an uphill putt and the arrow wrongly indicates downhill, just as I said from the very beginning.

  Ty for proving my argument true.

   

  I'm sorry but I don't know how to implement pictures directly. Copy&paste doesn't seem to work.

  The file to download is a pdf file, no installation if you have an Adobe reader.

  Righdyright!

  Danny's pictures show it very clearly: An uphill putt acc. to the grid (which is true from my experience) and a misleading "down" arrow in the aiming marker, q.e.d.
