With all the anticipation for the US Virtual Open coming up...  I was kinda wondering whether WGT is going to keep the ball rolling by having the VIrtual Open Championship as well, and which course said Championship would be on?  I certainly hope they do.

I was just saying on another thread that if we are getting Royal Lytham, then an announcement must be coming anytime now. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I recall WGT saying something a long while ago about not acquiring every Open course... too many links courses, all alike for this venue.

I somehow don't think we'll get it this time. I'd rather have an inland course next like Wentworth or Sunningdale.

Based on last year's timings I would say that if we haven't heard anything from WGT by the end of the month we probably won't be getting Lytham. My money would be on either the Women's US Open course (Blackwolf Run) or one of the CTTH courses being developed into full stroke play. I wouldn't mind seeing the likes of Wolf Creek, Harbour Town or Pinehurst here.

I know it's not much to go by, but a while ago the WGT Facebook page posted some new photos of Wolf Creek, showcasing holes that weren't in the CTTH and it got me thinking.

Of course, this is all just speculation on my part and we could only end up with one course this year, with WGT getting more TruGolf courses in or dedicating its time to new pins on CCC and RSG.

    Jack.
