    DAZZA501:
Any hole on St andrews in heavy winds is possible. I got my 401yd drive on hole number 16 there with a 30mph tailwind that kicked forward off a down slope.

Hole number 5 at cabo is the hole. There's a patch of rocks on the left of the fairway that you can bounce it up and roles right down near the green. I've gone 430+ there a few times but not landed back on the fairway so unfortunately it doesn't count.

Dear Dazza, hole 16 at STA is exactly were I had my two 400+ shots, yet stranded in the rough so no count there. Seems like many mention Cabo5 here, worth to give that a try! Thanks!!

    notonthis:

Just got mine on number 10 at st andys. Full topspin with a tailwind is a good start.

Dear Notonthis, I play a lot there yet never would've imagined that a 400 yarder was possible there without ending up in the rough, thanks for the info!

    I got a 404yrd on St.A 4th hole (I think). Drove the green with a heavy tailwind.

Dear Roger, at the 4th?? Waw, that bal must've been drenched in kerosin or so, never would've thought it could be done there, but with the correct bounce, lots of things can happen. Thanks!!

Another vote for Cabo 5 on the rocks.   Lots of fellas over 400 there.

Dear Runwme, indeed, the Cabo5 seems to be a top favourite here. Didn't Yoban from Finland produce a 450+ yarder once? Thanks for commenting!

St Andrews 3rd hole I did 417yd. from legend tees.

Dear Daner, quite an unexpected hole you mention there, but think with the correct balls and a good bounce, it might be done. Seems like St.A. holds quite a few long drive possibilities! Thanks for adding!

    The 400yard+ experience!

Just as many of you all, I desired the wish to be amongst the players that can score a 400yarder at WGT. I had succeeded already twice in that effort yet always ended in the rough (hole 16 STA) so the shot does not count. Just over a week ago, I improved my 392yarder (stood firm for about one year already (hole 18 STA)) to 394yards (hole 10 STA). It was just warming up it seemed since today, I hit my tee-off shot at the 10t hole at STA, with 28mph back wind and Callaway balls, some 400,13 yards in the distance, just one to two feet shy of the rough edge. The shot can be viewed at this link.

Have fun everyone, a great play and a great shoot out!

Got mine on St Andrews #10, however that was from the Legend tees.  I think from any other tees you will end up in the rough behind the green, even from my tees it was close to getting in the rough.

There are options on pretty much every hole at St Andrews with the right wind and kick.
