How about vary the green speeds in competitions but don't tell the player what it is. That way you go onto the course and have to adapt to the speed as you would on a real course. It would take everyone a few holes to suss it and make those first few long putts very dicey.

    AlaCowboy:
Can't you change those conditions in a practice round?

    Yes

yes you can AlaCowboy, I'm talking about tournament conditions here. Every week the tournaments come out and what do you get, the same old conditions again. Do ya think if there were a real weather program for this sim that the weather would be the same every week the answer is no. There are companies out that make weather engines and download real world weather. Put in your location and you get the weather. It would be cool if WGT would explore the possibility of having something like that for us. Would that be exiting or what.

No. Playing in rain or putting on wet greens, or landing in a bunker with water standing? I don't play in real life in the rain, so I won't do it in here either.

Sheesh! What kind of Cowboy are you?? LOL

I'll bet you go fishin' in the rain tho......

Seriously, more variety in the green speed and wind speeds for tournaments would be great.  And if the sim weather conditions could be tied to the actual irl weather conditions at the course, even if its only an option for practice, so much the better.

Don't overlook the fact that it snows at Oakmont. :)

There are 6 free tournaments this week, 5 have heavy winds and all 6 have very fast greens. There are 3 locations for these tournaments, do you really think the conditions are the same at all of them for real, I don't think so. We need more variations for the conditions. Not too much to ask for.

Yet another week of high winds and very fast greens... Maybe it's global warming? Oh yea, and yet another week of me complaining. =)

At least one other golf sim has already implemented this in their game.....

not the rain or snow (don't be moronic) but they use the actual wind conditions courtesy of the weather channel. So its clearly possible to do
