Time to refocus.
I'm floored by the outpouring of kindness. Thank you. I'm even more floored that it has come from both sides of this competition.
I never meant to hijack this thread. I just wanted my team back. All of you, Deviations and All Stars combined, have given me much more than that.
This is not just a game. You are all real people, a real community of friends, regardless of whether your team's color is red or blue.
I could embolden these words or italicize them for emphasis, but there's no font or other keyboard tricks to properly convey the weight with which I say them, so I'll just leave it in normal script and hope you know how heartfelt they are:
"Thank you."
If the last few pages of this thread doesn't exemplify what it means to be the best, then I don't know what does. This is a special kind of event. It's unprecedented. When I am feeling beaten up by life, all I have to do is revisit these pages. You have no idea what a few kind words can do for a man's soul. I was proud before, now I'm humbled.
And now I think it's time to get back to doing what you all do better than the millions of other players at this game; playing amazing golf, finding a way to overcome difficult lies, draining "S" shaped 30'ers, and finding a way to win against the best players in the world.
Good luck to both teams in round 2.
Sorry Lou, I'm still rooting for the All Stars.
