    Jamil, what can i say?

Well you did manage to top that previous speech...

Firstly the legend 400 tourney that you ran was brilliant because of you, your enthusiasm despite the turmoil you must have been going through. You had my respect long before reading you baring your soul here. In light of this, the fact that you gave away that prize despite your circumstances just confirms what i thought about you. Be strong my man and you can get through this

KingTuck- I for 1 am glad you are back involved man. You're a great player and speak with class

    Time to refocus.

I'm floored by the outpouring of kindness. Thank you. I'm even more floored that it has come from both sides of this competition.

I never meant to hijack this thread. I just wanted my team back. All of you, Deviations and All Stars combined, have given me much more than that.

This is not just a game. You are all real people, a real community of friends, regardless of whether your team's color is red or blue.

I could embolden these words or italicize them for emphasis, but there's no font or other keyboard tricks to properly convey the weight with which I say them, so I'll just leave it in normal script and hope you know how heartfelt they are:

    "Thank you."

If the last few pages of this thread doesn't exemplify what it means to be the best, then I don't know what does. This is a special kind of event. It's unprecedented. When I am feeling beaten up by life, all I have to do is revisit these pages. You have no idea what a few kind words can do for a man's soul. I was proud before, now I'm humbled.

And now I think it's time to get back to doing what you all do better than the millions of other players at this game; playing amazing golf, finding a way to overcome difficult lies, draining "S" shaped 30'ers, and finding a way to win against the best players in the world.

Good luck to both teams in round 2.

Sorry Lou, I'm still rooting for the All Stars.

    I am too. KT's a great player.

    I'm glad Minky's in also.

I'm relishing the thought of the All Stars humbling the Devs but they need to stay in the mood cause them Devs can be a devious bunch and will always come out fighting no matter what. I think the Devs must have Scottish ancestry in them.

However, I feel the All Stars is just a bridge too far for the Devs.

And Jamil.......you're without doubt one of the nicest persons on this site and a real pleasure to play some virtual golf with. When I've been in really tough situations where everything is at the lowest possible point, I always say "things can only get better, because they cannot get any worse."

Stay strong and keep moving on mate. It only takes one piece of good fortune to act as a catalyst into making other good things start to happen and everything will come together eventually.

Personal lives are like nature. They mostly always heal themselves with the correct input.

    TBE

Great match Ally.  I was outclassed all the way.  Beautiful putt from 17 feet above hole on #5 and a meter freeze into the trees on 14 proved to be the difference. I lipped an eagle putt on #17 to stay alive but putter proved cold for anything over 10 feet.

Ally wins 2 and 1.  Truly a pleasure to play with him.

Thanks Jake. You hit some incredible shots and just got on with it despite a couple of meter issues (very quickly too, i was struggling to keep up with that pace!)

I pulled my eagle putt on 17th but overall played pretty solid. Very nice to meet you and play this match

Great that Matt and Hass are back.

Great win Ally (I told you Mike :) ). Jake is one of the finest here always hard to get a win against him.

    Regards

Had it out with Mike just now (KyRock) and was able to play solid enough and also take advantage of some weird deviations he experienced to seal a 4&3 victory for the Stars.

Appreciate the opportunity to meet Mike, he's a great guy and had nothing to prove in this game, just had some off-moments as we so frequently do at Olympic. Closer game than the score indicates.

Thanks again Mike, pure class and a great riding partner.

And for those that kept the faith in me regardless of my lousy performance round one - this is for you! :-)

First off want to say that Matt is a super nice guy first and also a great player. I had some chances early on in our match but did not take adv. of them. When he had a chance to win a hole he did. Great to meet you Matt and good luck to the rest of the players in this competition! ( More luck to the Devs of course LOL)   Rock aka Mike
