i agree, settled like gentlemen that they are.

Here's your All Stars Round 3 at Oak line up...

First, let me preface this with some thoughts as i go...of course dialog is encouraged:)

DDuvall981  ...one of my picks..I love the way he plays Oak...don't worry lou, his average is                           indicative of SA unlimited CC Tourney's in low wind, he'll be the first "pretender"

                        tour legend at WGt.

Kritzjan....   dang it guys, we know his game against BiB was not his best stuff and we know                         he has way more to offer, as kingtuck did in r2.

    Dansamcam

    Priestess

    Genorb

    Allykennedy

                           (foot notes needed?)

Minkywinkster  Primed and ready for Oak, and well desrving

Mihmariaci...a stud that needs to play and was humble sitting out at Oly

RennDog03...deserves a chance at Oak as was unable to come to times at Oly...have a                              feeling he'll put on a nice show for the good guys;)

Mongo441..Jon just plays so well...I have to keep him in

WonTonamo...Tom had a heck of a battle by proxy against mrenn...and put up a great                                    effort...deserves head to head competetion

Stevenharkin...the man just plays great...and plays to win..

To cyl6, Dazza,Buckthebuck and Kingtuck, you (as we all know) are great players here at WGT and deserve to be in R3 at Oak and you've done us proud to this point and I hope you cheer on your Mates for the deciding round...it's gonna be a tough one I'm sure

Good Luck all...wall post and Pms will be coming shortly.

    Genorb and Bulfrog,

Cheers to both of you for your sportsmanship. You guys took an awkward situation and settled it with class. Very happy to consider you both winners.

Ok everyone --- for Oakmont - Ranked Match Play .. worth 3 points / match ... the matchups will be.

    1. Suncity28 vs. Wontonamo - rematch of the boys down under (hope time zones don't cause an issue)
    2. Jakestanfill vs. Stevenharkin - Steven was hot in round 2 .. he deserves Jake
    3. DudDoodle vs. DDuval981 - The battle of the D's
    4. Runwme vs. Kritzjan --- let's see if Don can rebound
    5. Mrenn29 vs. Dansamcam - Dan is pulling some tuff matchups
    6. Bolloxinbruges vs. Priestess ---- 2 hot players which everyone wants to see
    7. Winsoon vs. Allykennedy --- one of dev's hottest players against an all star stud
    8. Bulfrog2004 vs. Genorb --- The spin glitch rematch ... can't wait for this one
    9. Stonecoldkiller vs. Mihariaci - I'm sure stoney wants another shot at Mihar
    10. KYRock vs. Minkywinkster - KY vs. minKY .... seemed logical at the time
    11. Losersss vs. Mongo441 - We need a lift .. Joe is a tiger on Oak
    12. (PGABound03) Claremoreblue vs. Renndog03 --- see note below

I think PGABound has something personal going on so if I don't hear from him in the next day or so I'm going to ask Bogeybuster to fill in against BucktheBuck on the Olympic match ... and Claremoreblue to fill in on Oakmont.    Stay tuned.

Good luck to everyone --- let's try to get the games done end of day Sunday Aug 19th.

Just heard from Dan .. dealing with a personal illness with someone very close to him ... so he will be out for a while.

I'm going to ask Bogey to play Buck the Buck on Olympic

And Claremoreblue to play Renndog03 on Oakmont.

Stonecoldkiller assured me he will do his best to get the game in with Dazza.

Lets finish this competition with class boys and girls :)

Played my game with SCK. After i led 2up after 2 i thought i was in for a good 1. Stoney had different ideas and kicked his game in to gear and turned it round in the next 7 to lead 3up. It pretty much stayed that way for the back 9 and i ran out of holes. Well done Stoney. Good game mate.

Thanks for the pick in this Mike and sorry i let the team down. Good luck to the rest of the players in the remaining matches.

    Round 2 match with Dazza

Dazza got off to a hot start with 2 birdies going 2 up early. I got it back to AS in the next 2 holes and built a lead to 3 up through 9. Dazza never gave up and did not allow me to pull away getting it back to 2 up on #10, and then #15.  Finally I managed to pull away with a birdie on the 1st par 5 on the course with a score of -11 through 16.

He lipped a couple of putts he might've made on another day while i made a few i would've missed on another day. Good competition; pleasure playing.

Slight change up in the AllStars line up.

Hass (Minkeywinkster) is too busy in the next few weeks and is afraid he may not be able to get his match in, Lou has agreed to let me put Buck back in as his replacement.

Scorecard has been updated. Lou and Mike, please verify that all the match ups are correct.

This has been a nailbiter the whole way and, as expected, it's going to come down to the last few matches.

On a more personal note, to both teams:

Win, lose, or draw - Deviations or WGT All-Stars - the sportsmanship, the teamwork, and the excellence of all 32 players has been extraordinary.

There is not a single player on either team who doesn't deserve to be here representing the absolute pinnacle of the millions who play this game. Not because of the low scores you're all capable of shooting, but for your class, your competitive spirits, your humility, your sense of fairplay, and your willingness to step up and put yourself on the line.

The winners of this competition get squat. You don't win a weekend getaway. There's no shiny new car. You don't get a hat. You don't even get a sleeve of balls.

Still, the absolute best in the game - not just the 32 in this field, but the 32 others in the invitational and the countless more who wanted to be a part of it - all decided it was worth it to be a part of the greatest tournament field ever assembled... for nothing, and that's really something.

It is pure competition for competition's sake.

But this kind of event doesn't happen organically. It doesn't just grow from nothing. It takes a lot of work and it takes a certain amount of risk to put yourself on the line and say "I want to see what happens when the best players go head to head in a team format and I'm going to make it happen."

On the doorstep of the third and final round to decide the winner of this event, I think this is the right time to stand up and give Lou (lvietri) a huge round of applause.

This was his baby from the very beginning. He convinced the best players in Deviations to risk everything in exchange for nothing. He got them to put their reputations on the line against every single other player in the game - And here's the amazing part; he did it before they even had an opponent.

By contrast, Mike and I had it easy, all we had to do was say, "Who wants to play heads up against Bollox and Jake and SCK and all the rest of the best of Deviations?"

    There was naturally a stampede.

Thank you Lou for making all this happen. Without your hard work, tenacity, and dedication to keeping this at the highest level of competition, it never would have gotten off the ground.

    Three very, very big cheers!

Good luck All Stars in round three!
