Maybe a good idea to stop robbing yardage of our shots when there's water in play.

Normally a dinged 240 yrd 3wd (with decent nikes) into a slightly ignorable 3mph wind will go 235+ in the air......that's unless you're playing across water then all of a sudden the dinged 240yrd shot will always under perform 5-10% usually just enough to land in the water....in this case these dinged 240yrd shots both went 228 yrds......coincedence?

I'm not raging by any means........but it's clearly just ball robbery. If you're gonna keep stealing our balls.....at least try and hide it.....be a little more subtle lol.

These shots should have cleared the water by 5 yrds easily....just as they do in alt shot games...hence the reason I tried the same shots.

    Robbery

    Pure Theft

Sure I could have laid up.....but it's an eagleable hole so I always go for it. :)

That's happened to me on the same hole last week.

In an MPC game which cost me the match.

Lay up?  Why should we, its a shot we make in AS and 95% of the rest of times without issues.

The only real difference between your shot and mine,  the one I had 7 mph at about 10 o'clock and landed at 226.

I was saying that to myself the other day about the 3w off the fairway, it doesn't carry as far as it used to.  So, I ask myself, whats changed, I have upgraded my balls from the legend callaway to the Nike lvl 48 distance balls.  Performance of a club doesn't change according to MisterWGT.  So, what's changed?

MisterWGT said they were preparing for a release this week - I'm guessing the R11S 3-wood.  The R11 driver started "underperforming" a few days before the release of the R11S driver also.

both shots were full 240yrd and dinged l48 nikes (extra distance balls apparently)......both went 228 yrds and splash.

Now I'm even more upset ....

Mine was a level 71 Nike going 226 and splash!

tbe, you played too much backspin on both shots. Nike balls are notorious for losing five to seven yards of distance on full backspin shots.

Its no coincidence in slightest. You clearly made a distance error. And your second mistake was calling a three mph wind, "ignorable".

That low wind in your face will account for at least five yards loss of distance, and with full backspin, your looking to lose at least 10 yards of distance altogether.

Live and learn they say. On to the next one my friend. : )

You are completely wrong sir, backspin = more carry. Topspin = less.

you have absolutely no idea how much bs i used.....and yes I know all about yrdage loss due to overuse of BS with nikes...i ain't a noob lol

also......a 3mph wind is pretty much ignorable....when using the extra distance nikes.

please don't try and tell me 1/8th BS is too much for that shot. 1/8 BS gives it enough height to carry the water and onto the green leaving me (depending on the bounce) with usually a 18 - 25ft putt for eagle.

it's a shot I play regularly and know tonight I just got shafted twice on the trot......3rd time the same shot from 3 yrds further back into a 5mph h/wind carried the water and stopped 9 yrds from pin.....and I stuck in the putt for an eagle.

like infinto.....i've been noticing the r11 3d has been under performing for a while now.

Anyway.......we'll see what stuff arrives in the update.

First of all, I can tell how much backspin you used by the trajectory of the ball in the replay.

Also, I never said you were a noob. You're a very good player tbe.

I believe you underestimated the wind for that shot. If you keep setting-up for that shot the same way, your going to get the same poor result, every-time. My R11 3 wood does fine on that hole when the wind allows me to go for it in two, otherwise it's a lay-up for the sure birdie.

Maybe the next question for MisterWGT should be, "why do clubs perform better for some players, and not others?"

Piz, you're wrong. Backspin into a head wind will knock off yardage with the Nike balls. tbe knows it too.
