Not everyone is going to get the hang of up/down, side-hill lies at the same time, right away.

I believe Sega Genesis Golf had side-hill lies that a player had to compensate for. It wasn't all that bad. Its about starting the ball on the right trajectory towards the hole. The distances everyone is used to should remain the same.

My question is, will the side-hill lies feature be the new way the game plays, or does it have an on/off switch? Just curious.

I think the 100 round requirement should be removed for promotion to Tour Legend.  If people are already below 60 why drag it out?  It only promotes sandbagging in the lower level Legend tier and punishes worthy Tour Legends that don't play everyday.  Am I missing a logical reason to make them play 100 rounds?

Links had lie factoring and did a great job of simulating it. You got the necessary lie information in a graphic and had to actually adjust the club face and swing plane to compensate.

IMO, If aiming  is the only adjustment there is going to be, that is going to be extremely lame.

    Yes.

I agree it seems illogical if a legend has already played 400+ ranked rounds at that tier, and their average is only going down.  It merely delays the inevitable.

What about the "one-round-wonders" though?  People who play 1 ranked round as a legend and shoot 29 or better.  Their average is 58 or less, but would you consider them an elite player based on 1 good round?  I certainly wouldn't.

The 100 rounds eliminates (most of) the posers.

And that cream that remains will be great to see compete against each other. True competition.  :-)

Don't forget you could also changer your stance to compensate for a ball above or below your feet. That will never be implemented here either.

    Timbo1984:

YankeeJim put it very well in an earlier post. It will not fix an existing problem, as you cannot simply take equipment away from "controversial players" who already have high level gear...He bought it according to the existing rules, it is his. BUT it would be a step towards stamping out said problem for future players choosing to go the same route.

New equipment availability should be tiered based.  Tour Pros and Pros should not have a 270 yd driver.  Likewise, Masters and Tour Master should not have a 280 yd driver.

Those that do have them now can either sell them back to WGT, or get moved up to the club's  corresponding tier.  This was done when we went to the level-up system and lots of guys were moved up a tier overnight.  People bitched about it for a month and then it was over.
