I absolutely can not score well at Olympic.

You're not alone. I've shot mid to upper 50's on every other course from the Legend tees. My best round at Olympic (63) was the first time I played it, and my best since then is 65. For me, the trouble lies on the greens. It seems (to me) that the breaks at Olympic are displayed differently than they are at the other courses. A putt that I would expect to break 4 inches at Oakmont will break 8 inches at Olympic. I just can't seem to figure it out... maybe it's all in my head.

Any advice would be appreciated to be more successful there.

The advice I give myself is to hole my approach shots, and that really isn't working out. I've played a couple rounds with approach average under 8 feet and still barely broke 70. Any putt over 2 feet is a crapshot for me at Olympic.

I absolutely can not score well at Olympic. I think my best score ever is 65. I considered myself a solid player and I'm wondering how so many people shoot in the 50's. I try to place the ball on the green below the hole in the proper spots to make birdies but it's just not working out for me.

Any advice would be appreciated to be more successful there.

I set up 2 practice games at Olympic using my tee ( tour pro, very fast greens, & moderate wind),  & your tees (tour master, tournament green speed & moderate wind)

I did a 58 in practice with my setup & 69 with your setup! The answer seems to be, lower tier tees & a slower green speed makes all the difference in scoring at that course for the average Joe's such as you & I....

Thanks for all the suggestions especially bob for posting such detailed info. I shot my best round of 63 the other day. Scoring on this course like many others has to do with making putts and it's hard. I have the ability to shape shots and usually am on the GIR on most holes. Like someone else said keep putting in the tokens and eventually I'll get the prize. (hopefully...lol)
