Had some quite annoying experiences on the new holes, apart from the mislabelled green speed that cost me a couple of birdies. I had one shot into the rough, some 30 yards from the pin and 10-15 yards off the green. When making my shot, I say myself on the green, with a wedge, aiming for something in the bushes off green. Reverse cam gave me the right angle. Actually, I think it was almost the same view, but my avatar was not standing on the green no more.
Worse is putts that shows break but goes straight and that does not show break and they still break. I don't think that is acceptable.
But worse still is the diagonal putting grid you get ever so often. I find it almost impossible to read the greens when that happens. Specially if the camera is misaligned and aim towards the pin through your ass rather than through the ball line.
This does not bode well for upcoming releases of new courses. Olympia is pretty good I think, but Cabo and Whistler... seems like they have forgotten to extrapolate the data and some greens are very edgy, like putting on carelessly distributed cardboard sheets. Sometimes there is wild breaks that is completely invisible since they appear in between grid lines.
I also havet he feeling that VEM is more active nowadays. I have had shots where I am late for the ding and still the balls crawls left, against the wind, and land left of my marker. Usually this has been to my advantage, but I do not want that kind of advantage. It also happens that dinged shots turns against the wind. I would prefer that "the Ding" would be a reliable reference. Until they give us more parameters to play with, "ding" is the best we can do in terms of the technical execution of the shot.
I'd like this game to become better, not just bigger.
