    *update*

Cool.... a cross wind on #10.... still not a helper...

and then a 20 mph direct head wind on #11...

    Stay tuned....

*update*  finally... first tail wind on #12 only to get the typical deviation short

#13 wind to 4 o'clock *sigh* this is getting old fast

#14 20mph to between 4 and 5 o'clock... at least I can stick it right... oh wait... in between clubs.

    #15 18mph cross to 2pm....

    #16 19mph cross to almost 10pm

#17 20mph to 7:30pm with the back pin.....

    And the grand finale.........

#18 19mph tail wind at..... wait for it....... 1pm!!!!  The second true helper wind of the round yay!!! *sigh*

So if you didn't pick up on the sarcasm, I am not happy.  Now I had no illusions of winning because I don't play much these days.  But to be out of contention before it even starts is pretty ridiculous.  I finished the round in protest and my score will attest to that (90 on the back 9)

Something needs to be done about the so called *random* wind patterns.  It's just not right.  Period.

57 in qualifier, rd 1 posted a 65...  I did have one hole that had a 21 mph cross wind.  As Lee stated, the rest were direct winds to the face or 30 mph winds at my back on the par 3's.  For some reason, I still find Kiawah to be the toughest course for me..

The speed on these greens were unreal, knocking the ball by 5 feet on a 5 foot putt is kinda bs, or an 85 footer meter to 59 and it still is long by 2 feet. When I play on tourney greens during Alt shot I rarely hit putts as far beyond like I consistently did today.

I has mostly head winds in the second round and tail winds on 3 of 4 par three's. I loved it. I wish it was head winds on every hole because tail winds cause more issues with holding the greens anyway. I shot only 2 strokes higher than my first round best so I'm thinking I did ok.

Is there a way I can volunteer to have only head winds in every single round I ever play from now on?  ;-)

I guess the Kia trip just wasn't meant for you. Wonder who the 'random' player who receives favorable 'random' winds for 30 of 36 holes will be... On a side note, I'm glad to see a player of your caliber pointing out one of the glaring problems with this game, maybe someone will listen.

Come on WGT.... Really?!?!?!  Just finished the front 9 on round 2 and had one cross wind... on #5..... the rest were strong head winds between 5 and 7 oclock.   Talk about over before it even started.  WOW.

Thats close to realistic, in pga they had 50mph wind to fight, lost many balls, and all tees is same direction on front and opposite on back north/south on linkcourse.,Wind dont change 180 degrees within 2 holes or 10 minutes same day!! It only happens on wgt's "random" wind, what means: 90% you get tail on par 3 and 90% head on par 5!! WGT-rules !!

Don't feel bad, I just forfited the game, I would never post score like this in this game.  As a matter of fact i believe they are trying to make a fool out of indivduals with this type of game.

They could not provide these type of conditions during the qualifications,  This is my last game with WGT!!!!

    jgbishopjr:

Without playing another round, is there a way to determine the current cut for this tournament?

The answer was given, the cut line was at 82 (pos. 9988 indicated), alas it's irrelevant again.

Like in other WGT Championships of this Summer, players were allowed to continue regardless of their Q scores. I've seen quite a few ppl posting a score after 90s or 100+ in the first round (from the leaderboard short time after the 2nd round start).

Now obviously 9988 players from beyond the cut line may play two further rounds, wearing and losing their balls. Nice push for the quarterly results but yet another mortifying fault by the programming staff in the cut line section.

In addition, the subject of the CC tourney purse withheld by WGT due to this "fault pool" hasn't been solved (at least not published) yet.

Got pretty much the same thing.

High wind in single play tournaments is indeed problematic as reported many times (notice that I am not whining at all :), I just report ideas found in the forum which I think might improve the gaming experience here). Depending on the wind set, you can have a difference of several strokes (I guess from 4 to 6)  while playing the same quality.

There are several possibilities that have been proposed. Two of them could work in my view:

    1. All players have winds in the same quadrant. Only the precise direction (within that quadrant) and the wind speed would change (within some range as it is now) from one hole to another.
    2. One could take into account the real fairway orientation. At hole 1, the wind direction would be random (or within a given quadrant for all players) and for all other holes, the wind direction would be determined from that random direction and the real fairway orientation.

I think both are pretty easy to implement. I think proposition 2 (with wind on hole 1 within a given quadrant for all players), would be quite realistic. In general, the course design is such that it even out any wind advantage (you will get roughly the same number of holes where wind helps or where wind hold the ball if, of course, the wind direction is roughly constant during your round which is quite often the case). Ocean course Map.

As it is now, the way high wind is implemented lead to some frustration among many players. Using one of the two propositions above, which have been proposed many times, would just avoid such frustration. If you struggle on a given hole due to the wind, at least you know it will be the same for other players and if they do better, then they are just better.

I don't think it would make the game any easier. You still have to shot your round whatever the wind set. I don't think also that the problem that some players would share the information is really an issue. First of all, you don't know the precise direction or speed of the wind. Secondly, in real golf, you can have a good idea of which kind of wind you will get before starting your round.

    Regards
