We all know that there are two different "Tournament" green speeds. Unfortunately, we can't always differentiate between the two without risking strokes.

How about changing the name for one of them. I think that the Legend's green speed can be called "Professional", and the "Tour Master's green speed can remain the same.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've left a putt short due to uncertainty of the right green speed.

A little clarification between the two would help me as well as the other WGT customers.

Or simply replace the descriptions with a stimpmeter rating.

    That would remove all ambiguity.

I don't even know what the stimp meter is. Changing the name would be the easiest for everyone.

It's a lost cause. The first WGT chat dealt with why it's the way it is even though it was hard to understand. Search "stimpmeter" and this will make sense to you, B.

    From that thread....

Last, but not least, the green speeds on WGT have been adjusted for the Legend and Tour Master Tiers.  The greenskeeper has been asked to tame his inner demons and save the championship green speeds for special events. Here are the general guidelines we have given the greenskeeper for regular play (actual green performance may vary):

    Tier          Green Speed Stimpmetered

    Hack               7.9

    Amateur         7.9

    Pro                  9.0

    Tour Pro         10.0

    Master            10.0

    Tour Master    11.0

    Legend            12.0

I've mentioned this before as well with no response.

The new Tour Legend will be using the championship green speed which I think would rate about 13.0 on the stimpmeter rating.

I would like to see names rather than numbers.  The only one at issue is the tournament speed since it is used for two different speeds.  Buggy has a good idea, just change the name to something else.  I would prefer to change the name of the tour master speed to something different.

I agree. I don't think anyone would like to see numbers on the green speed indicator rather than a name that they're already familiar with. Who wants to go to a forum post every game just to see which number corresponds with what greens speed. There's no legitimate reason to do it.

Changing the name of one of the two would seem more efficient and less confusing for others.

Would having stimpmeter figures make the game too easy? Just asking.

I don't even know what the stimpmeter is, so it wouldn't be easier for me. All they have to do is CHANGE THE NAME OF ONE!
