Kiawah - The Ocean Course.

  This course is one of the most difficult courses in the US... and for one reason.

  The Strong winds. 

  Playing the course here at WGT, the winds on this course are Always low - moderate.

  If we are to experience this course as it should be, the winds should be atleast set to Moderate - High. 

  My 2c worth.

  The winds at Kiawah are not what I would consider strong winds. 

  It is on the ocean, only a few feet away at some times, however the winds are generally nothing like the winds at STA.  They come in often in the late afternoon and would be moderate at best.  Once in a while you get the type of winds that the PGA had there on Friday but generally it would be what I consider breezy  10 to 15 mph.

  Play the weekly and monthly free tournaments, the wind settings ( for the most part ) are heavy winds. This months, Monthly Kiawah is under heavy wind conditions.

  somehow I managed to forfeit the Kiawah monthly.   I wish someone would explain clearly how I was able to do that when I didn't quit.

  This is very true, I actually was lucky enough to play this course years ago, was quite still during the front 9, wind picked up a little in the afternoon, but still was not as strong as St Andrews on a calm day. A friend of mine who lives in SC said the winds are seldom strong at Kiawah.
