Here's a novel idea. Why don't the developers write code for three pin placements on the next HD course(s) in 2013?

    Just askin' : )

Then someone will be asking for a fourth.  WGT'ers tend to burn out quickly.

Along those lines, though, how about a pin spot on CCC #9......front left......right the fugg under that tree that overhangs the green.  It'd be like playing Plinko.  Put the ball in the tree and take your chances.

I think it was trully a miracle that we were able to get 2nd pin set there.

I think we would have to fly out there again to get 3rd pin set.

It's not just code and you should know that by now. They have to take new pictures for the new pins. Sure maybe they could take pictures for 2 sets of pins when they photograph the course but for some reason they don't.

Brutal angels. Sounds like something from a Doctor Who episode.

No doubt there are valid mapping and programming limitations, but it is too bad the pins on WGT cannot be placed anywhere on the green for each round--as in real life.

the one thing that I have a problem with wrapping my brain around, is that they have the whole green already mapped out.  You can place your ball on any section of the green, and it has a grid that shows you what the deviations are.

That grid is overlayed on the picture. That's fairly easy. What's not easy is finding the exact right photograph for a particular location. If they don't have the right view pictures then they have to go with the next best view.

You may have the whole thing laid out, but there could be a lot more nerve endings right around the hole.

What i don't understand is that every course changes pins daily. So that being said why are there only one set of pins in our game, Do they only take pics when the pins are in the same spot? I mean we have all heard how much work is involved so it seems to reason everyday pics are taken should be a different pin,at least 4 different spots.

In a previous thread a few months ago, AvatarLee posted a few pics of why it's not as easy as we seem to think it is.

The main reason is the direction to the current pin...

Meaning if WGT were to put a pin location someplace that they did not take pictures of, there would be no proper angle to line up the putt.

In effect, you may be in many positions where you are putting across your screen. without being able to look down the line of the putt.

Maybe in the future WGT will take this into account and shoot pics at potential different pin positions?...not sure, due to the amount of pics needed and possibly time constraints to get them taken.
