    CerinoDevoti:
I recommend the 155 credit WGT Legend balls for testing.

This still introduces a feel attribute-2 dots to be exact. The Tour-SD doesn't have any. This is where I think the trouble begins, as soon as you start monkeying with the speed.

There is no way I would give up the spin and distance the Nike 71+ balls offer to get rid of the very few deviated shots. There's way too many long iron shots you require that much bs to pull off. And quite a few tight fairways that require 300+ yrds of carry (that's CARRY) with full bs to hit. Those shots just can't be pulled off with the lower spin/distance rated balls.

For screwing around I'll switch to the Dove Care balls. I think they're the GI-SDs, if I'm not mistaken. I think I still have about 40+ of those lol

300 yards carry to hit a fairway? Where? There isn't a fairway around here that can't be hit with the R11 and the starter ball. That's nonsense. Besides, distance is not the key to scoring well. It helps but certainly isn't essential and the inferior balls can handle it, you just have to play a much different game.

There's a ton of good players that are approaching the stage we all saw as TMs-driver/wedge, only the wedges have been replaced by the R11s. I'm not at that point myself (but I can sense it) so the ball becomes immaterial. What is material is the new course management that results and I find it fascinating that deviation plays much less a part with the inferior balls. I remember my game as a TM when I was owning everything just before the leap. I'd like to get back there and the fast meter with the new (to me) Tour-SD is like a mini revival. :-)

I meant as a go between the Nike and the one you're using. I also played with the 10 credit ball for quite a while and found it worked fine. To simulate actual golf play I use the free ball on all the courses and it works better than most will admit. With my G20's the meter isn't so fast that I can't keep up with it. That's the primary reason I haven't gotten the R11's. I like to play practice rounds without eating up ball life on overpriced rubber.

I'm really glad you brought up the slower ball messing up the meter. I thought I was half nuts thinking the same. The complaints from players using the MAX ball seems to comport with your theory.

I'd like to get you into the Starters and Uneven lie Tourney. Talk about course management.

     ;-)

I've done it many times. Just leaves a longer second shot. Par hasn't killed anybody.

I just played a alt shot with the wgt ryder cup ball and i was really surprised how good they perform with the R11 irons.

    Cheers
