Heard there was "exciting" new additions coming in October, IS THIS IT?
I dont want to sound too negatively as WGT are doing an amazing job with everything (especially according to Mr WGT's chat), but Is it worth the extra $3 for a club which is virtually identical to the standard R11 hybrid except for the extra dot forgiveness and a club hardly any one uses anyway? Who packs the hybrid anyway when you have a decent length 3 iron to punch out of rough and no one drops 3 wedges. My last hybrid is sitting in my virtual house somewhere collecting dust (or maybe i sold it on ebay, better prices than the pro shop) I bet most WGT players would have preferred a spanking new putter or even a made up set of clubs imported from china like PONG.
And its at level 96 too whilst the wood is 95 and driver 94, compared to the R11standard which are 82(hybrid) 84(wood) and 88(driver), shouldn't the Hybrid be at a lower level because its a club no one really uses so you should look forward to reaching say level 96 for a driver rather than a hybrid which you probably wont buy
But if you want to collect the whole set well done for the new introduction anyway, i'm sure a small minority who cant hit ding might value it. I know it cant be done due to the programming but a good idea would be to allow us to drop 3i and replace it with hybrid, then it might shift a few more (but can't be done so no point in dreaming..lol)
Unless, as was described by Chad, Meirions fairways going to be narrow and any slip up its straight into rough so this will be very handy for what is going to be an extremely tough course. (but Olympic is meant to be tough too but its my favourite course) but i bet next years usga virtual open will include UNEVEN LIES!!!!!
