    WGTpizza:
Which specific meter optimizations are you referring to?

You'll have to ask Mr. Nelson which specific meter optimizations HE was referring to.

    WGTpizza:
We are always looking for ways to optimize the meter. It's a high priority for us, and we are devoting all available resources to the effort, but that's about all the information I know.

You should be in politics.  Trying to stay classy here.

I'm beginning to wonder if people can tell the difference between a smooth as silk and stuttery, jerky meter?  Could I be Meter-Intolerant?

There's something to this.  I claim to have one of those smooth meters but it's smooth by my standards. They might not be the same as somebody else's. In fact, mine actually does do a little stuttering fairly consistently but it's always before the 1/2 way point and never enough to upset timing.  I always figured that was an auto click defense. It's actually smooth where it counts-crossing the ding line.

FWIW, this comes from having experienced the evolution of the meter in this game. Oy, compared to the way it used to be, this is perfect.  LOL

You know, my Mom always told me that...

Well, I understand your sentiment, but allow me to explain sans-politics :)

You know as well as the other seasoned veterans of this game the situation revolving around the product that we offer that is Flash and browser based. If we had a maintenance-free "fix" we would sell it to the thousands of other companies that produce a Flash and browser based product and retire early.

The inherent nature of our product almost always requires it's users to perform maintenance. That's the bottom line, no politics there.

It's tough to hear, but it's the truth. In order for browsers to perform optimally (no matter what you are using them for) maintenance is required. The same goes for the Flash plugin. I am here to help show people that this maintenance can (and probably will) improve your WGT game performance. I have to say this though: the maintenance we suggest is not a "cure-all". In some cases, the maintenance advice we offer may not fix the technical difficulties a player experience, and at that point I encourage them to email our support team for more personalized assistance.

WGT does not want it's players to experience meter issues. This is evident by the effort they have put forth letting me loose on the forums to spread preventative and/or corrective advice. What is not so evident is the behind the scenes engineers who work hard to make sure the game runs as optimally as possible, given the environment.

No closing statement, no assuaging, no politics. I would love to hear back from you :)

My meter is exactly like that 98+% of the time....And though I'm loathe to say it considering my rants in the 1st couple of months of joining , (and I might have to return the balls), that since I've learnt more about how to halt / reduce the probs coming from my end, most of the difficulties I had are almost non existant now.....There are still the odd few days here and there when everything seems to go haywire..(and will continue to blame wgt for them  :) ) but otherwise.....FWIW    Andy

Judging by the number of posts lately on meter and other problems what you say is true,  it is not so evident.

Will we see results of MisterWGT's statement saying "optimizations are being worked on" by the end of the year?

Please find out for the community.

You're being unreasonable here, A. You're holding their feet to the fire for some specific factoid that you know is not going to come. If you can't trust that they are doing the best the can or know how, then there's something fundamentally wrong. You know as well as I do the meter is decent, it just goes to how perfect you want it.

Do not treat this is a challenge, it's just my own little opinion.

Boy, Andyson is not pulling any punches today!

Well, to answer that I would need to know what specific optimization you are referring to. If you are talking about general optimizations, I believe I answered that previously by saying:

I would be glad to find out more specific information, just point me in the right direction :)

Forgive me I am probably way off base here, but for myself I have noticed that if my monitor or screen isn't set just right for my eyes the meter seems unforgiving.

I use a laptop to play this game I never close the lid, my better half comes in and decides to clean, bingo top closed, laptop moved maybe just a hair, but for me it takes awhile to get it back to where I can play the game without throwing the dang thing out the window.

So for me the angle of the monitor makes all the difference in the world.
