    Hi,

I have no luck in CC tourneys recently.

1st I enter a single play game at STA with my Starter clubs - beat me to an 82.

Now I struggled through CCC front nine with the regular equipment (G20s + Tour SD), no remarkable score, when I hit the bunkerside rough (30/40%) at #8, right hand side. "Try and whack it out" I think, 125 yds club for 89(?) yds to the pin. Almost hit the ding - whack - it sails 150° into righthand OOB. :(

"Another shot, another fate", same set-up, WHACK!

    ...same darn shot OOB!

Two balls lost + 4 strokes - I hole out with 10, playing out short this time.

    Game score: 45 :(

    Q:

Is this a known mystery spot, like the bunkerside rough at OAK#5 producing Mickelson lops backwards?

    Chapter two:

The score was ruined anyway, so I didn't mind when I hit the rough at #9 again. Short pitch out left me 278 yds to the pin, but I refused to lay up another boring 175 yds:

Full speed ahead, let's have a look at the neat uphill rough!

Look at the shot - almost a "longest" past the pin with that 240 yds 3WD.

I parred the hole - lol!

Very nice cart path + side slope bounce combo. I don't have the balls to try that, unless it's practice. Only time I actually hit the path, I ended up on the top side of the green.

The rough between the path and the green is usually 30-40 %....so all in all, not a bad spot to be.

ty Duffer, I knew that. Therefore I freely whacked away.Usually I'd lay up to 95 yds - nice full (98y) wedge shot to the hole.

This whack might have cost me a shot - didn't care in that situation.

Thanks for your answers regarding the cart path, but my main concern is this question:

Is this a known mystery spot, like the bunkerside rough at OAK#5 producing Mickelson lops backwards?

    Any information about that?
