Can we get a "button" somewhere on the profile page or next to the "friend" button on the score board so we privately report these cheating bastards to WGT for investigation?

Three times today I have played stroke play and/or Blitzes with Hacks who are playing like pros with start clubs.  Yes even as a TP, I try to play everyone...

While adding the "report" button, perhaps you could add a "inappropriate chat" button as well.

And a 4th button to mute someone's chat.

Graciously yours, current mostly happy WGT player, but quickly edging towards disgruntled....

I'm sure there would be a flood of cheater reports for WGT to go through everyday, but I like the idea of having a button on the game client window that would send a report to WGT with the player's name and the game in question.  If we can click on our clubs and/or the send button in chat, surely it's possible.

This is taking it a bit too far and I think this approach is faulty.

    1)  Just because a player has a good round and beats you doesn't mean the player is necessarily cheating.

    2)  The amount of players hitting the cheat button would be rediculous and having someone in WGT constantly looking into these matters would be a complete waste of time.

Unfortunately, WGT still hasn't come up with an adequate solution to the sandbagging problem but they have taken the first step and have acknowledged the problem!!  BIG FIRST STEP!

    SOLUTIONS:

    1)  Link clubs to tier level/tees - problem would be the fact that many lower tier players already have the clubs and will be forced to move up.  Secondly, some recreational players may not be able to tier up being stuck with lower tier clubs and may become stuck into certain tiers without the ability to improve.

    2)  Link tier advancement to earnings (tournament and challenge play) - This is a great solution and should be fairly easy for WGT to put into place.  The downside would be the fact that players could still cheat the system until they hit the automatic upgrade threshold (whatever that may be)

    3)  Tee off from the same tees in challenge play and most tournament play - not a bad solution in my mind being a Legend and hitting from the back tees already but lower tier players may disagree

    4)  Move players up on a case by case basis - too hard to enforce and I'm pretty sure this is where WGT is right now with this problem.

I hope this helps and I hope WGT can eventually come up with a fair solution.  There are very good customers getting cheated by people that are blatantly abusing the system.  Something needs to be done but I give WGT great credit in taking the first step of acknowledgment.

    Thanks WGT!

Hasn't it occued to you that some of these people are real good players?  Just because you're a higher tier doesn't entitle you to guarenteed victory.   Treat your opponents with respect and improve your own game before making outlandish accusations.

I often think about people who think that most are cheating when they lose. They are probably cheaters themselves and I question your character.

He who casts the first stone theory.

Of course there are blatant cheaters . That goes for every single game wether its a console or PC or real life. People always look for the extra edge when they lack character and skills.

It is not our job to determine and be the judge of that. Let WGT handle or not handle as is the case most of the time now , their own problems. Find some honest people to play , get in a good CC and enjoy your time and quit worrying about the cheaters. They will pay for their sins dont worry.

    cycle1979:
Tee off from the same tees in challenge play

That would fix sandbagging once and for all, but not multi-accounting.

I'm fairly certain this system is already in place since the last update. I've seen a large number of players being promoted way before they should in the old system. Someone became a master after less than 40 total ranked rounds, it used to be a minimum of 60 total. Not that much in tourney earnings, but a LOT of MP scored wins (most likely challenge mode).

Come one, give me a little credit, I've been around 40 plus days, played beginner clubs to level 48.  This isn't about a good round or bad round.  This was about 2 different players in the same night, both playing early level Blitz's hitting starter clubs within 6ft on every hole.

This "Hack" was playing better than a level 80 something Tour Master shooting in the 60's I ran across playing starter clubs a couple days ago.

Neither of these players were sand baggers, rather they were Multi Accounters, one playing through a proxy so slow it took 45 minutes to play a blitz.

It wouldn't take much work to assemble some meaningful heuristics to filter out:

    1) chronic complainers using a "report player" feature.

    2) Filtering out players who routinely get reported by "multiple" other players, particularly across several games.

    3) I forgot while resetting a disconnected game...

    Respectfully,

    Brian
