LOL, Sara, that is precisely what I have been doing for the last couple of months!!!, ranked rounds over & over, even some over 60 or 30, the last thing I care is about the avg at the moment, I am more then ready for the champ greens, but it looks like I need 380 rounds more...nah, no patience for that.

I shall try politely to ask for a "promotion".

    Regards Sara, Eric

New Legend players have to complete 400 ranked rounds. All previous Legend ranked rounds over 400 will be attributed to the necessary data needed to advance to the Tour Legend tier.

Play an additional 100 ranked rounds after accumulating the needed 400 ranked rounds (as a Legend player) after the August 1, 2012 update. Averages will fluctuate up and down during this period. scores of 31 and lower will keep an average low during this period.

Averages must be below 60 to advance to the Tour Legend tier; only after the above credentials have been met. There seems to be a bug in the system as some players close to the needed average (60) are being advanced to the Tour Legend tier prematurely.

I have another thread here where I whinge about shooting 29's and only coming down 0.03.

We are in the same boat Mo, with similar averages, and all I can see is at least another 200 29's to reach 60.00 average, which is utterly crazy and very frustrating.

Bribing a TL to lose to me in Match play doesn't seem to be an option either.

Just did another 7 birdie 29 today, for what .......0.03.   pfffft

Bud, that is only going to get worse - until you hit the 600 ranked rounds as Legend. Once you hit the 600 ranked rounds, then your average will only be calculated on your best 600 ranked rounds, so a 29 then would knock out a much higher score and your average would drop a lot more.

I am getting pretty close to the 600 ranked rounds as Legend - if I shoot a 29 it would only drop my average 0.01 (because the denominator in the calculation is getting close to its maximum level now).  And if I shoot a 34 it would go up 0.01.

    400 + 100 = 600?

Not in my dairymaid math *grins*

On a more serious note, the issue will become worse all the time, except for the short period after saturating the average with 500 rounds (expulsion of high scores).

After that, the difference between new and expelled scores will shrink continuously, resulting in ever smaller drops. When - for example - a 63 replaces a 64, the average will drop by 1/500 =.002, invisible in a two digit average display. You will need five of those to safely pass a rounding line, eventually modifying the display.

Aaaarggghhhh - dunno why I had that number in my head - well spotted Alosso......I reckon I mentally added the 100 to the 400 to get to 500, then forgot I had done that and mentally added the 100 to the 500 to get to 600 again.........

Yes, I can appreciate it is an exponentially tightening calculation, but it is exasperating to think one needs another 200 rounds of this quality to reach TL.

This might be the moment to forget about it - for a while :)

    Have fun!!

Pretty good requirement for TL, I'd say. Keeps the riff-raff out.  ;-)
