Wow!  What a wake up call.  I thought I was moderately decent at this game until I played the championship tees! LOL

Going into it, I looked at the leaderboard and thought to myself "No problem qualifying, I usually get around even par on this course"

I haven't had worse putting since my first day playing this game.  My meter was conveniently jumpy at times, which didn't help. It seemed like the holes were smaller, I had so many putts graze the edge and roll even farther away.  14 mph winds seemed to affect my shots more than 20mph winds.

Just a debacle. I finished with a 93.  I feel like such a noob again lol

    Anyone else with similar experience?

indeed...icy greens and far back tees make it a little tougher!

    Hi All,

Haven't been out on the course yet - but am looking forward to it. I did warn a few people who were saying the course was just soooooo easy - to enjoy it while its here, because after the tees go back, well ????????

Now I guess they'll be complaining its to hard lol.

    Cheers

    Doug

PS - Just played Oakmont (73) - wow those greens are slippery. If St Andys is the same, its gonna be difficult thats for sure - Enjoy :-)

That is for sure!  just played Oakmont for the first time,    humbling experience! As difficult as some of the greens on St Andrews are,   they will be much worse with champianship speeds,

Yes no more 66 scores on St. Andrews!  I had to upgrade to a Master driver so I could reach the fairways.  I can see though how the pros have such a hard time, the fairways are so narrow and just when you think you have an opening there is a trap there!

Greens are insane!  This should be a great challenge.

    Oakmont just destroyed me.

To just repeatedly watch the ball roll... and roll.... and roll... and roll....

I shot a 94.  What a very demoralizing two rounds of golf for me.  Wow.

I'll give them another shot of course, but just... wow.
