I did a lippy lippy dubba dippy on one hole, it ended up 21 feet away! I had several lip outs go few feet off the hole.

Hole #2 is unbelievable... many putts and approach shots that should be two feet away more than ten feet out.

I felt that I was extremely lucky to shoot 78 both times when I tried playing it. The greens are absolutely brutal (I had 4 three-putts my previous round), because it's hard to stop your first putt within 5 feet of the hole. Although I think St. Andrews is even more of a 3-putt country, with greens even more difficult than the ones at Oakmont.

Pinkgirl... just wait until the hilly St. Andrews greens are tournament speed.  If I could have a nickle (make that a dime for today's economy) for every curse word uttered...

Spaceballs had the perfect term for the new green speeds:

    Ludicrous Speed.

i have worked the green speed out to within a yard, sadly my aiming and approach shots and back 9 knowledge leave me with a 67 instead of a 60 :-(, hard to keep plugging away when u have -6 after 9 holes and then end up with 3 bogeys on back 9, but i have plenty of time to practice :-), i love it a real challenge for all.

I can honestly say that putting on these tournament greens is more difficult than real life putting.  I just tapped a ball which would normally go about 3 feet...it went 28.
