    TarheelsRule:

Count me in as well but if we are using starter clubs, shouldn't we use the starter balls as well.

I agree.  May as well go the whole hog and make it deepest tees and highest winds too.  Bring on the PAIN.

Sorry for the delay, but the entry list has been updated. As for the method, I still can't decide. As such, I'll open a poll of the 30 who have entered, asking what they want. Here are the 3 choices:

    1. Play the US Open qualifier using starter clubs (and balls), and post a print screen of you using every type of club, and your final scorecards.

    2. Play a Ranked stroke-play multiplayer round using starter clubs and balls, with the other player confirming and reporting your score.

    3. Same as 2, but using a practice round with slow greens, heavy wind and the master tees.

I'll close the poll once I feel I have enough votes for one method. Please vote, or I'll have to choose. And I'm rubbish at stuff like this...

I like choice 3 (maybe slack off the wind.)

I'm all for the 3rd option ... practice rounds from the blues .. or any tees, just so we're all playing the same course with the same clubs/balls.

Playing under Open conditions does exactly the same thing,  but everyone would have to play solo . IMO, the whole point of community tournaments is to meet & play with other members of the community. I've been hacking around Oakmont by myself since it's release... it would be much more appealing to play along with someone else ... both for the company and to help keep focused.

Hi Ellis, I'd like to sign up for this tourney if it's not too late !

You've given the players some good options for the tourney and if I were top vote I'd chose the option 3 but go easy with the wind as I'm sick of playing with high winds ! I've also thought of some options that I'd like you to consider.  Let's keep it simple but interesting by mixing it up with the different setting for the Tees, winds and green speeds in multiplay rounds. For example:

    • Round 1 -  Red (Easy) Tee, Low wind, Slow Green
    • Round 2 -  White (Medium) Tee, Moderate wind, Fast Green
    • Round 3 -  Blue (Hard) Tee, Moderate Wind, Very fast Green

This way we can all be tested in different course conditions and still have a good chance of scoring well without being too ridiculously hard that it becomes painful !

Sorry for being a pain by making it more complicated for you but I just want to help you make this tourney fun and challenging for everyone. :-)

Actually Coolswing, that's not a bad idea. Seeing as most liked idea 3, and that takes in that idea and adds a bit, it will most likely work.

However, I have one more question. When it was just 1 condition, I had it planned as an unlimited tourney. Now with 3 rounds, this might change.

So, what do you want, Single or Unlimited amount of rounds? Vote, and I'll announce the winner, and start the tourney, tomorrow.
