i have played easily 1000 round of video golf. and this game is hands down the absolute crappiest thing i have seen. really 225 yards with a driver. maybe a 4 iron. most women on tour can hit 300 these days. how can you enjoy a game when par 5's are bogey holes because you hit the ball like a pansy. and the putting blows. if i putted like that on a real golf coarse i would cut my wrists. wow. who would play this crap. who would recomend this crap. who would design this crap. you play and play and you get nothing you can use because everything costs too much. if i am going to pull out my credit card i will wait till summer and go to my local coarse, at least there i can reach a par 4 in 2.

Happy Thanksgiving..............would you like a little cheese with that whine?

If you can't reach the par fours at your level with starter equipment, I would suggest that you might want to review some of the tutorials.  All of us started with starter equipment, heck some of us had to play the longer courses with it.  Before you whine too much, please check the stats of the great player Tibbets who posted unbelieveable scores on difficult courses with the same equipment that you have.

Whilst you may have played a lot of video golf, you have played 22 ranked rounds on WGT - hardly enough to be a too critical. Your stats themselves are not too bad, in fact pretty good (Driving accuracy and GIR) but you putting and short game is pretty poor.

You use the starters clubs, which do not give great distance or accuracy, so would be worthwhile considering an upgrade of these clubs. You can play using the starters clubs and still play well (sub par rounds) but this takes practice, and after 22 ranked rounds and by how often you play, you surely cannot expect to do any better.

There are lots of ways to earn free credits for upgrades and many people do not pay a cent playing this game and score very well.

Sounds to me, that if you stopped your whinging and practiced you would be a lot better. Just like the real game, if I played twice a year my scores would be poor. the more I play the better my scoring is, this game is no exception. Also like the real game, isn't this meant to be a challenge?

Or perhaps you just want to play cartoon mini golf.

you re correct iy is the putting that sucks and for your information on any other video golf i have ever played after 22 rounds i had gotten distance control and puttig down to almot a science. i have probably started 100 rounds but get too busy too finish or end up 4 putting an easy green because the swing meter on the putter is quite frankly a joke. no way any golfer beginner or expierienced would ever misshit the ball that badly. putting is line and speed not hook or slice.

dude, you have to dig in and actually accept the challenge that is WGT.  you start of wondering exactly what you stated.  but, you start getting a little better and looking though the pro shop realizing you can upgrade as you level up.  that's when the fun starts.  you start to plan and strategize the best way to maximize your way to the top.  you use surveys, vids, maybe you just drop your debit card on the whole thing.

the fun is in the journey, and you can't get that from another golf sim.  once you realize the uniqueness of the game, and succumb to it, can you start actually complaining about other things wrong with the game.

until then, you are identifying yourself as another 'give it to me now, i don't want to work for anything' player.

i am a scratch golfer for real. and this is not very realistic. because i coul take a 65 dollar walmart driver to the range and drop 275 yard bombs all day. and the most hokey unrealistic thing like i said is the putting. you said it my GIR is pretty good and i should birdie a lot more holes if you wouldnt 3 putt from insie 15 feet. tiger isnt even that bad of a putter..lol. another thing ....stopping the ball on the green is almost impossible. so i idnt think the cartoon mni golf comment was very intelligent. i could whip out the credit card and buy all the upgrades. but i like to earn them. this game doesnt reward you at all. i could go home right now ..dig the old PS2 out of storage...crappy sticky  broken controllers and all ....plug it in and shoot 60 at st andrews without hitting anything bigger than a 3 iron. part of having fun is playing well and hitting good shots. i quite frankly cant hink of another golf game that uses same swing meter putting as i does for driver. you have no feel on the green here.

all i am looking for is something realistic. no man picks up the big dog and only hits 200. i was hitting farther than that when i was 15. and let me tell you equipment has improved alot in 30 years. my 70 yer old boss with bad knees hits 230 for god sake.
