    one thing i've learned is that i have to turn ALL auto updates off . i noticed if windows or my security was updating the game would run like crap ! also my security has a gaming mode that also helps game run smoother and hold the meter for 3 count also really helps... and BTW , i play on a 7 year old laptop with 1gb ram via wifi and hardly have any issues other than my old piece of chit freezing up

    Welcome...Don't forget if you are not using a 64 bit Pro version of XP this may not help much as you  are severely restricted on the amount of ram that 32 bit recognizes above what it takes to run windows etc.. You may be better off if it is 32 bit using a USB flash drive for Virtual Memory.

    No worries mate, XP x64 with 8 GB RAM here. Just created a 4 GB Ramdrive (size might be changed soon) with the xp compatible tool I found myself and changed the cache location of my browser. Going for a test-game now.
