My suggestion to all the top players here would be to keep all your credits. Do not in any way put them back into circulation.

By gifting you are still giving them back to WGT. I know it is helping players who can,t spend or afford equipment but I would suggest, keep amassing them and treat them as points. As I seeit it, by keeping them out of circulation sales in the pro shop will drop and that will hit WGT.

I think it is absolutely absurd to take away the one thing that all the top players are striving to achieve and to replace them with some stupid stuff that no one will buy or even play the money games to get.

Spend on what you need, (balls etc) But do not give WGT anything else. If the members of this site cut right back on their spending for a couple of months and made do with the equipment and tier they are on then WGT might start looking at their actions and take stock of what the MEMBERS who keep this site competitive are saying and maybe!!!!! they will change their ways and start treating us more fairly.

I have followed these and other threads pertaining to this subject and can see the amount of unrest in the community at large, WHY CAN'T WGT!!!!!!!!

Lets keep the Legends from leaving by implementing some of the Elite items into a Legend Only country club sponsored by the golf channel or WGT themselves. Sort of like "The Dream Team" of basketball only for them in virtual golf. They would have an incentive to stay and others as well to continue up the tiers. Could cost a certain amount of credits per year or one time contribution. Then they could have discounts on balls, clubs, & other Pro Shop items for them only. I could even see them playing virtual tournaments like the ones in real life especially for them; and we could watch these tournaments on their online channel and cheer for our favorite player.

Everybody would be happy then, WGT gets extra revenue for being the sponsor, it would mean extra advertisement geared towards the new consumers. And players will have a goal to reach for the long term.

I think what would be nice is someone creating an internet BUSINESS (not just some black market discussion forum) to match credit sellers and buyers (sth like eBay). Would be really fun to see what WGT would do to fight that :) Ban ability to gift? Alright, then match-play challenges - ban them as well? :) It would not be hard to keep participants anonymous (that they would only know each other) Of course a problem could be if WGT create spy accounts trying to find out who is trading, but even this could be addressed I think.

I plan to keep amassing my credits in the hope that something i really want is added to the elite collection in the future. I get the feeling i'll be living in hope though.

When i started on this site they had the car and I think a couple of trips in the Elite collection and I read that this WAS NOT a gambling website.  This was not long after the government had shut down the internet poker sites so I figured that it must be true.  Even so, there were several states and countries out there that would not let people play in the Ready Go's or MPC'S.  Hmmmm I thought, why not? Ya can't cash out so it ain't gambling. (Not even BB was ever gonna get enough credits for the car with 1.00 RG's)  Anyway, along comes the gift cards and 20.00 RG's and suddenly, YOU COULD CASH OUT.  Hmmm, I thought, how is this NOT gambling?  It can't be because internet gambling is ILLEGAL in ALL 50 states thanks to the federal government.  Well now, WGT has done away with the cards......and soon after, many, if not all formally blacked out states and countries can now play Ready Go's.

15 pages of thoughts and whatnot and nobody considered this......really?

    Pizza?

I just tried to play the WGT Nation Tournament on St. Andrews and could not believe how many problems I had with the program. Shots went the wrong way, tournament greens were not always tournament speed, shot distances were not right and I think the WGT free ball would have stopped quicker then the WGT ball I was using. Guess WGT just doesn't want me to get anywhere in a tournament. So I quit even after I had cutoff their access to load on my computer they still managed to screwup the breaks, make the shot to birdy just an inch short of going in and in consistent green speed everywhere. I think this game has gone to hell in a time when it has lost the fun of achievement and challenge. It has gone to the ridiculous, what the hell was that shot, wait a minute,I hit that hard enough to go in from 6ft. I love to play this game but if it is going to be like this, I don't need it. CYA

This may have been mentioned already, and I'm not defending WGT. But I don't see how WGT was making any money selling high dollar gift cards to all the credit grinders who don't spend real cash to enter Ready-Go's.

WGTniv said he had invested only $1 in this game and until recently was on the top 5 all-time money earners leader-board since 2009.

This is the definition of a straw man argument. Misrepresenting a view point in order to easily debunk it.

You seem to be implying that wgtniv's experience of a paltry investment with an outrageous return is the norm. It's not.

But even if wgtniv's experience was commonplace and all the top earners invested zero dollars in their game in return for enough credits to buy gift cards, you're still ignoring that the credits won have to come from somewhere.

The majority of the credit pool is purchased by people who will never win anything. People who put $20 or $30 into their account, buy some imaginary balls, purchase an imaginary wedge, try their hand at a few ready goes, lose, and move on.

All the while, WGT is removing credits from the pool through equipment upgrades, diminishing ball life, and a 20% rake in tournaments and match play.

The pool is being constantly fed by a stream of mediocrity.

If WGT offered gift cards at a 1:1 ratio, they would still be in the black due to credit evaporation.

If half a dozen out of the several million players actually get something tangible worth more than their total investment, it is still advantageous because it is a carrot for the rest of the players.

As it is now, only the stick remains. Short sighted and dumb.
