oh it was still on uneven lies...I hit the shot normal and it ended up 50 ft left...so just do your best to get it on the green to putt

I don't care what they say, they doctor these games , no more uneven games for me. Total BS.

I wish I would have took some replays to show you guys they were more than your normal WTF shot

I think UL is a great addition......but it needs a LOT of tweaking.

I was aiming at the tree on the right because the lie showed a severe right to left slope. I hit a full 60yrd wedge and just missed ding very slightly left.

I have to disagree, it's a total waist of ball life, it's far from being able to figure out it's just a hit and hope situation.

It's just not ready  for any serious play yet, a very good player showed us that , the player shot a 58 I think in the first round which means he had some idea what to do, goes on to OLY  in the second round had to WD.

The point I am making is it is to crazy, and you can beat your brains out , try to fool yourself into thinking it's a good thing but in the end all you'll be doing is buying more balls than you normally do. Practice with the free ball will do you no good,IMO because when you go to a good ball they will not react the same, so guess what you start fighting it all over again

FYI: for anyone that's interested, the thread on 'Tough-It-Out II': The TransAtlantic Uneven Starters Open has now been posted here.

Please check it out, sign up and help spread the word!

And good luck to everyone in the current Kiawah/St Andrews tourney!

You have to understand WW that if you play starter balls and clubs to learn the way it plays, you will find immense enjoyment in some camera views that show the behaviour of the ball on approaches , where it reacts exactly as it would in RL ( Real Life ). It is not darts, it is links golf as it should be.

It is a thing of beauty to see a six iron plop down just short of green, and then bounce forward to snuggle up against the pin, as it would happen on any real links course.

I can spin back a normal ball in RL on courses in Spain like Valderrama with a six iron, but I defy you to do the same at St Andrews. It just won't happen.

For those saying it is unrealistic I will give you a RL example. Some years ago we had a rainless summer in UK, I was playing Princes (adjacent to RSG) and all the downwind Par 5's were reachable with a drive and wedge, because the fairways were baked hard with no grass growth on them, so a wedge with max BS would land 110 and run for 60 yards. You had to play to land on the flattest part of the fairway.

And as I said earlier the very opposite is true in wet and heavy wind conditions.

Only the greens were watered that year as there was a sprinkler ban. But nonetheless we as members still could score pretty well.

Only managed a lousy 70 in the tourney, will have another go.

happened to me earlier...had to quit the round and start over to get the grid back...

Thanks, did you try to carry on to see if you were still on uneven lies or level lies after you problem?...As I am in hole 18 with a fairly good score I think it is a pity to throw it out the window, at least I can give it a try and try to make par.

    Eric

Hell, stupid trying without grid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, lost a 150 credit ball & made a triple boogie anyways.

    FIX THE BLOODY THING!!!!

Woody I thought so too the first time I tried it but if you pay close attention to the slope indicator you can come fairy close to getting decent results. It does need tweaking but it is far better than when they first introduced it. Where they really need the tweaking is around the green. You get some really unrealistic outcomes when chipping, pitching and flopping to an elevate green. I had a 8 yard pitch that went 2 yards forward and 6 yards to the left. That would not happen in real golf unless you just hit an awful shot. But hopefully that will be addressed in the next update which should not be too long from now.

Has anyone else noticed that the wind is more accented, the greens are faster ,and I have no idea what the breaks are doing on the greens. Just because it is UL game is no reason to accent the other features.

I had a putt  that was a straight  putt, all the dots were moving insink with each other from left to right. Now when I putt I miss the ding, so I moved the marker to the left of the hole, and missed the ding early, as soon as I hit the ball it went to the right, there is no logical reason for that to happen.

I restarted 6 times on the first hole all 6 times no mater where I was on the fairway the ball landed the same place on the green explain that one.

All I'm saying is some people will like it and others will not, and will just become an option like Skins if you want to play it fine. But as soon as some of these guys start losing $2.00 balls due to a WTF shot, and you will get them because you get them now in normal play and the only outcome is a 50 foot putt, or in the bunker. Wait till it starts to hit your wallet .

I don't consider myself a quitter, but then I don't keep wanting to run into a brick wall

Anything goes when you miss the ding and it's worse if you don't pay attention to the very first part of the roll at your feet. Sounds like you started off on the wrong line. Without a replay that's just an educated guess.
