    YankeeJim:

IMO, Pizza is trying to find out where he should be in all this. He has quite the knack for boxing himself in and creates most of his woes himself by trying to be all things to all forum readers. He should take a page out of Icon's book and just let things play out, only jumping in when it gets out of hand, but he tries to do what he thinks is the right thing and appease everybody.

Running cover for the Chadster is his biggest mistake but that's the signature on the paycheck so he has to. Chad's the bozo everybody needs to be climbing on, the guy's making a farce out of the community and is quite obviously out of touch with what's going on, despite Pizza's insistence he isn't.

I'm not sure the perception of Pizza here will change any time soon  but it will change. Just give  him him the space to make his mistakes and don't take him literally unless you're stomping on the forum guidelines (Shrude.)  He's trying. Pissing off a lot of people in the meantime, but he's trying so you have to give him credit for that.

    Yes, well said.

Personally i havn't played a single round since last update, and I dont see myself doing so any time soon out of principle to the way us the customer are taken with total contempt.  The motivation is not there.  In 1 stroke the biggest enjoyment i had; Ready go's have now been rendered worthless & pointless,  Its not like I need the credits any more to save and to buy balls.  I wouldn't need to buy a new ball in years.

"Chad, how much shal we make these new balls?".....Mr WGT replies"Well, we've gotten away with stealing the gift cards from under their noses, and give it a few weeks they will soon start calling me one by one to kiss my a55 to spend their hard earned credits as I've taken their choice away from then, so balls, Is $15 too cheap now?

I read in another thread that because of the removal of  the gift cards, many new states and areas of the world may now be open to play rg's. It this is true, then this is only a business decision by WGT. I believe in a threat over a month ago they told us the gift cards were not going to continue. In the near future we will probably see many other gifts to buy in the pro shop. Maybe hats, shirts and other non money items. Certainly those who have saved up for many years to cash in on a gift card have a beef. This is only business. The ones who get fed up will leave (sad) and a new crop of players will come on board who never knew about gift cards. And the cycle continues. I shure hope the best of the best do not get discouraged and leave. BB, JJ, Jake and many other have for the last year and a half gave many an unreachable goal to shoot at. Hang in there all, this to shall pass.

    Double post.

Was well worth reading it twice though.

And @ CIB, I wrote you a long-ish reply on page 68 (no point in copying it here) of the looong thread, I hope you get something out of it.

why is everyone calling Pizza a 'him'  ???

I am in fact a male, and I take it as a compliment that people aren't sure, by my typing presence, if I am male or female :)

There are a lot of posts in this thread about how "WGTpizza knew what he signed up for". Could someone expound upon that thought? Is it expected that I should take personal attacks when a player is not happy with decisions WGT makes?

I don't think so, I'm not a punching bag to use whenever you are upset with the company.

Feel free to give me the most candid feedback about game features/items, but be sure to separate your frustration over the game from your feelings toward the messenger - most of the time I am right there with you, frustrated over the same thing you are.

Personal attacks on anyone in this forum is not acceptable, however it goes without saying that I am prepared to encounter passionate players of WGT. Don't "feel bad" for us if you see people launching personal attacks against us, because we can take it. If you feel someone is out of line let them know, respectfully. Usually all it takes is a peer to tell them they are acting inappropriately and they will get a change in perspective.

Thank you to everyone, especially PUHOLINO, for showing me support and love in this thread. I will continue to offer my services of a human being giving you information as soon as I have it from WGT, giving WGT feedback as soon as I have it from the community, and offering my personal opinion whenever it is asked.

First - I agree with Jare and the rest of you folks.   Pizza & Icon are just hired hands who try to moderate a forum.  They probably have a weekly update meeting with a superior ... but very little of this stuff gets to the owners.

Second --- Mel .. nothing personal but I just want to point something you mentioned and use it as an example because it boggles my mind.   And your not the only one I've seen that thinks this way.

    mel1950:
We, the customer, are not allowed to have any input in the running of this game. We are not taken seriously when we suggest changes that could and should be made and we are treated poorly by the higher echelon that own this game

Where in the world does a customer ever have input into the running of a company?   Owners yes - stockholders yes .. but people who use the product - I don't thinks so?  Oh you may be able to come up with a handful of companies but ... 99.9% of them just don't work that way.   Want to know why ?   Because that's not the way business works.   Not the ones I'm familiar with.

And ... why would anyone think that changes which "should and could be made" .. which are suggested by a few folks in a forum would fit in with a companies business plan? Or expense plan? Or game design? etc. etc.     Asking for suggestions is one thing .... taking them and implementing them is something entirely different.   If WGT doesn't do what you asked .. are they wrong ?   I don't think so.    I've run many many focus groups in my day to get our customers views .. but in the end any changes have to fit the business plan.

Finally ... how are "we" treated poorly.   I'm certainly not.   In fact I'm not treated at all by the owners of this game.     It's a game ... I play it .. they run it ... that's the extent of the relationship.

Honest Mel .. no beef with you ... I just hear many long time players saying stuff like this and I'm totally confused.     What is everyone so upset about and what do they expect ?

    .

I agree with what you're saying for most part with companies but games are a bit different. Yes changes have to fit a business model. But I think most peoples' beef has to do with lack of updates. Such as courses, fixing bugs, taking away gift cards.... instead we are getting useless updates with customizable avatars for 1000 dollars.

This is a Beta still and basically in a beta we are a test group and usually most games will take the data and feedback from the test group(the customers), so they can tailor the game to meet peoples expectations. So saying we are not being treated fairly is not the right way to put it exactly, it's more that the owner is completely and utterly incompetent, he wants it his way or the highway and could care less what people think. So I'm not mad because this will bite him right in the ass in the end. That's not how beta games are run anywhere else in the industry and that my friends is why this game is going to fail unless he goes to business classes and gets his attitude in check.

#1 hire someone who knows how to run a beta, obviously the person who is in charge of this doesn't know what a beta is. Take the top players and a select group of other players and get suggestions idea's from this. See how it fits your business model and start implementing things that people really care about.

People will start comping back. You'll get more people buying your product ei not charging 1000 for custom avatars, how about 500 to 1000 credits? you guys would be making a killing right now if you took the feedback from your test group.

    Sorry...

IF Pizza is the one WGT is sending out here, then if there is fire to be taken, Pizza will be the one to take it.   If he doesn't like it, he should tell his bosses to crawl out from under their desks and come face the music themselves.  In these forums, Pizza IS WGT and thus any fire meant for WGT is aimed at him.

So very wrong. I am not the company. My role has been explained in this thread already, I suggest you give it a read. As soon as I am involved, and profit from, the decisions WGT makes - then you can call me "the company".

Being upset at the company does not give you the right to personally attack it's employees.

Voice your concerns about the game or the company itself all you want, but leave personal attacks of the employees out of it.

Yes. I am often finding myself in a dilemma if I am at a restaurant where the waiter/waitress is doing a good job but the food is bad. Should I tip? Usually I tell them what I thought about the food (which would be the product in comparison) and then I tip depending on the reaction. If they get upset or say something like "nobody else have complained", then they will get no tip.

Still, the role of a waitress/waiter is more comparable to the WGT game interface and WGTPizza is... well, the bouncer. You normally don't argue with the bouncer but if he would be the only human being in a fully automated restaurant, then you would be tempted to let him know what you think about the establishment. You don't tip him either. Ok, maybe I'd tip if it was a woman with a warm smile.

Having worked in the service industry, this is amazingly accurate.

You wouldn't yell at the bouncer because the DJ is playing music you don't like,

You wouldn't insult the waitress because the menu selection is limited,

    The list goes on...
