Was guilty of being a 'stomper'  in the last couple of days...,and for my money, over stepped the mark with a direct personal assault...(apologized in another thread and do so again in a more prominent one)

But, I gotta say I think ya man tries too hard at times, I know a lot of ppl have bad feelings toward him for the occasional exuberance whilst posting but he's trying to give us what he's got, if WGT don't arm him with facts then that is their failing not Pizzas..

Maybe the problem comes when like you intimated Jim, trying to be 'all things to all men'..... Attack is not the best form of defense in all cases !!

Sometimes a circumspect silence speaks volumes UNLIKE the deafening one we have now.

First - I agree with Jare and the rest of you folks.   Pizza & Icon are just hired hands who try to moderate a forum.  They probably have a weekly update meeting with a superior ... but very little of this stuff gets to the owners.

Second --- Mel .. nothing personal but I just want to point something you mentioned and use it as an example because it boggles my mind.   And your not the only one I've seen that thinks this way.

    mel1950:
We, the customer, are not allowed to have any input in the running of this game. We are not taken seriously when we suggest changes that could and should be made and we are treated poorly by the higher echelon that own this game

Where in the world does a customer ever have input into the running of a company?   Owners yes - stockholders yes .. but people who use the product - I don't thinks so?  Oh you may be able to come up with a handful of companies but ... 99.9% of them just don't work that way.   Want to know why ?   Because that's not the way business works.   Not the ones I'm familiar with.

And ... why would anyone think that changes which "should and could be made" .. which are suggested by a few folks in a forum would fit in with a companies business plan? Or expense plan? Or game design? etc. etc.     Asking for suggestions is one thing .... taking them and implementing them is something entirely different.   If WGT doesn't do what you asked .. are they wrong ?   I don't think so.    I've run many many focus groups in my day to get our customers views .. but in the end any changes have to fit the business plan.

Finally ... how are "we" treated poorly.   I'm certainly not.   In fact I'm not treated at all by the owners of this game.     It's a game ... I play it .. they run it ... that's the extent of the relationship.

Honest Mel .. no beef with you ... I just hear many long time players saying stuff like this and I'm totally confused.     What is everyone so upset about and what do they expect ?

    Pretty cool post Jure.

Can't disagree with ur sentiments one bit.

I've had a laugh all thro this, but we all know there is a serious side, just not sure what it might entail.

Let's just hope for the best, and if WGT have made or are making mistakes,I hope they have the sense to correct them.

Here in Thailand that kind of thing ( admitting mistakes ) never happens, as no-one will ever admit to being wrong.

Loss of face here just isn't tolerated, and if you cause loss of face, then u had better run for ur life.

We've had Politics and we've had Economics and semantics in this thread, so let me bring in Religion.

In Buddhist thinking if a person says "NO' to someone then the thinking is that that will make the other person unhappy, and that is not a good thing in Bhuddism. So everybody says "YES' to everything even though the answer is a blatant 'NO' in reality, and noone's day is spoilt.

    Voila

We are invited via the forums for feedback

Enough pressure applied to our only avenue in turn may apply some kind of awareness to the right people.

    YankeeJim:
don't take him literally unless you're stomping on the forum guidelines (Shrude.)

I try to speak for the majority when i speak up.
If you would rather be a passive participant then so be it, i prefer to be assertive & tenacious.
I am fully aware of the guidelines and as yet, have only had one post moderated.
But this isnt about me is it Jim?

Pizza took on the role, he is aware of what the role entails. He is a big boy now.
    He is handling it 'ok'.

If WGT want to provide an avenue for feedback then it is their responsibility to monitor and act on that feedback to their paying cutomers.
The lack of feedback via their voice isnt Pizzas fault , but it is to the angst of all including him/ her.

I am also a Divisional Manager, with several staff under me, when they are disgruntled with procedures and placements. I assess the situation myself and if indeed i am in agreeance, i will fervently take it up with my directors.
If then, I have reasonable  account of explanation  I will express this to my team from my directors perspective.

I have respect from my team because i have a sound and transparent reporting process.

If I were Pizza, I would be representing the community and not WGT. He needs to be brave in that.
His role is a Communty Manager,  Managers report to their superiors the good and the bad. In his role as a manager  he then needs to represent the community wth an understanding of their desires and pursue answers and resolution.

It is unfortunate for him that he has so LITTLE tools at his disposal and so LITTLE to offer in return from a management that doesn't offer transparency or support for him and his role.

So when we are carving up the pizza, it isnt him personally we are attacking, it is a 'wgt repesentative'..... the only one available to us as this avenue to WGT..

    edit #2

this is the PizzaBoy we are all talking about.

Evidence of his lack of company support. he has cracked.

.. The day companies don't listen to their customers are the days the companies have their heads way too far up their asses to see 'us' little people,,, thus we turn away from them in droves......

.. I also find curious how comments of  'I'm ok mate, the air is sweet on this side of the hill'.. .. wasn't all that long back those with half decent memories can recall a muffled murmur of 'Sandbaggers' and 'Cheats',  and it was thought the best way to deal with them was to exploit them on one's wall,,, at least 40 players were 'named' of which most have become established players...........

.. We all have a right to question n debate issues, we also have the right to have an input into 'our' game.. .. all we need do is put it in a polite n decent manner...........

The Mods are here to take the good with the bad and if they cant stand the heat then get out of the Kitchen.

One person said they dont make the WGT Buss. decisions ?? Well they sorta do when they Block accounts for any period of time because they are making the decision to lose business when they do that.

I am just going by my many many many years of experience in Customer Service and that is lacking across the board at times at WGT. Assumptions are another thing that Mods should not do at any time but ....Ill just leave it at that . I guess we all make mistakes :(

I don't disagree at all ... of course company should listen ... however the customers should not expect the company to do everything they ask - some things yes .. everything no.

In this case ... all the customers are complaining about is the ability to make a custom made avatar and provide the ability to cash ridiculous amounts of credits for gift cards.    Clearly WGT has decided that's not in their business plan.   If that's enough to make people turn away in droves ... so be it.   Personally I don't see it.

Now .. what else is the issue here ?

Absolutely 100% correct ... but I'll say it again ...  WGT has clearly decided to NOT provide custom avatars and NOT to offer gift cards for credit any longer.

What else is this all about ?

I'd rather have people asking for more than 1 stroke play course / year than this nonsense.

    Just saying.
