In about a week I will be getting fiber optics as my internet, is this going to improve the quality of the game or have no change? I am now on DSL

I have DSL here at my shop and cable at home. The DSL trumps the cable bigtime and FO is supposed to make DSL look like dialup. They were hyping it in this market when we were on the final test market list but didn't luck out. I would imagine loading would be the only game improvement you will see.

So you think the loading from screen to screen in the game will be faster, Do you think there will be any affect on the visual aspect, like a sharper picture? Also would it have any + to the flash issue, lagging, things like that.

I am uneducated in this technology, and I am looking at it like you  would compare rabbit ears, to cable TV

I doubt it, that happens on your computer, it doesn't get loaded. Basically, anyhing that comes to you and leaves from you to the internet will be faster.

I'm fortunate enough to live in Chattanooga, TN where the Electric Power Board offers fiber optics.  I have had DSL in the past, and most recently cable connections.  I can absolutely say that not only is the service less expensive than cable, but the speed is wonderful. Uploadig/downloading and screen changes are fast.  I still do get metered occasionally and have some of the same problems you hear of in these forums, but I believe much less than others.  And if I would investigate and try different browsers other than the outlook I use it may clear up completely.  I hope you have success when you change to fiber optics.

Hi Patty, haven't seen you in a little while :)

May I suggest Maxthon as your browser?  Its what I use and I very rarely have meter issues and when I do it's usually cuz I'm browsing youtube or have my itunes open.

It has a shortcut app that you can open directly to WGT without opening anything else :)

    Totally agree with ^^^

I would add just using maxthon for the game only and other browser/s for everything else..FO is very very good.I listen to my music on bearshare via chrome whilst running the game through maxthon and have absolutely no probs at all...have never had a flashcrash.

use the browsers fullscreen option (icon on bottom of screen.)..though not the games one.

What is it with people recommending different browsers? Use the browser you prefer by all means but it is Flash that the game runs on and that causes the meter issues so it's the Flash version that's important not the type of browser you use.

Errrr...Yes it is..some work better with the application than others..the advice is based on personal experience..not an idea I came up with...but whatever Dude lol..For example..Chrome has its own pepper flash player built in that does not work well with the game..Maxthon has its own fullscreen option instead of the in games version which works better, not only that..you can zoom in on shots and chat perfectly fine without leaving fullscreen...if I switch to fullscreen via the games icon my meter will stutter on every shot...so guess it makes a difference then if only for those reasons alone.

Also..knocking others comments who are only taking THEIR time for nothing more than being helpful is a lot better IMHO than trying to undermine others..so if you have some helpful advice by all means post away..otherwise..save your ink fella ☺

I'd be willing to bet that you are an (google) expert on any given topic.
