TBH. I don't think it's nerves, I think it's boredom with a touch of frustration thrown in. I haven't posted a score worth talking about for a week.
A real dry run - credits up the wall.
A couple of weeks back I was posting 29 to 32s 50% of the time. Even a 60 on a 18 all on RGs. It's only 100 credits a pop, nothing to get stressed about.
Now, a 32 is a good score for me. I am posting 34s to 36s on the same course, same conditions.
Maybe it's burn out and I need to take a few days off. Playing the stupid dual game of trying to build up enough XP points to get to 88 and the R11 driver - very nearly there - and dropping the average down to Legend tier.
The latter is something I have noticed other players struggle with. They are TMs and post lots of low scores and their average gets down to 62-63 and then they take ages to get below that barrier. Not because it's harder to do - but because the 29s suddenly stop coming. That's why I wonder whether WGT puts a little extra obstacle in your way.
Sometimes this game makes you feel like your playing with a fine samuri sword. At other times an unwieldy baseball bat.
I also need to drop the Daytona that TBF has served me well and switch to the slower meter of the Rossa. I have missed two many putts because I know where I want to hit it but the meter just hops past where I wanted it to stop. Far too random.
A further comment on that baby. I have read better players comment on people using the feel balls to slow down their meter. There has been the suggestion that those players are not so skilled as they don't have the good reactions. Yet these hypocrites all use the Rossa to slow down the meter when it matters to them. Just an observation.
But, yes. To compete, I have to dump the putter that I overpaid an upgrade for and buy a cheaper one to improve my game and compete. Not sure how that works exactly.
