  Nope, had a message a while back, miss his wit.

  Geoff, great read and I am full of admiration for you, and anyone that drives a bus in  London!!! I used to catch the 12 to Lancaster Gate where my apartment was, prolly quicker to walk but loved the old style buses lol.

  The number 12 used to be the main route that I drove. In those days we used the RT a half cab double decker with no power steering but it was a fantastic bus.

  Very Cool - I had to goggle the RT and yep that was the bus I remember. I probably thanked the conductor, but "Thank you Driver" for many a safe journey.

  I would always go upstairs and was a better choice than the tube if possible. And I am amazed, no power steering! Compared to the good old London taxi that could turn on a dime, you lucked out lol.

  Thanks for the picture and your thanks, The Rt also had a pre select gearbox which was great you selected the gear you needed next and when you did need it just operate the clutch and you changed gear. also you did not need to depress the clutch coming to a halt. As I have said it was a fabulous bus.
