      There is much more outrage all over the world , especially for the exploited and murdered humans . Animal rights is a very small voice .

    I disagree, lip service is paid to these problems, not outrage or action though.

    But, don't get me wrong, I'm disgusted by what happened to the lions. Apart from some obvious exceptions, if you hunt an animal and it doesn't end up on your plate, there is no justification for killing it. But even then, in the developed world hunting for food is not necessary.

    Heard on the news network the lion killed has a brother also member of the pride and recent reports from the park reserve say's this lion has taken on the role of looking after the pride now so if they are left alone they will adjust to their new pride leader and also he has taken on the cubs in the pride as hes own  so they will also be safe.

    Hunt sh!t in your own fking country and leave our precious wildlife alone!

    I can appreciate your feelings with this, however, there are no places in America that I am aware of that can offer a service like this. No, the dentist was required to locate one of your countrymen who is associated with a facility on your country's land governed by the government of your country, that, if this service wasn't available from your country, it wouldn't have taken place. It is your country that needs to leave your precious wildlife alone.

    Nevertheless, Rich is right to wonder how this special thread got flipped into this moment.

    Well aren't you a strange sort, quite quaint actually..

    I would suggest a map of the world and/or a Geography book, also educate yourself on this dentist fellow..

    Further than that I have nothing to say apart from lets get this thread back on track.

    Peace,

    Liz

    I hope it works out, old or not Cecil should still be roaming around. May the guilty pay and the innocent walk away. As far as governments, I don't trust a one, especially the one in the USA. I served proudly in the US military but wouldn't today. I would serve if needed, but not proudly. We have let this country go totally to hell or worse. Greed, Greed. lies and more lies. And we have given it away to every damn country who wants a piece.  Renni upset? Hell Yes.

    Give me an M60, a place to stand, and enough ammunition!  MY NICKLE!

    Shame about the lions.

    From what I have seen it depends on where you are starving, what ages are dying, and whether or not YOUR own government cares.

    The world is populated by many who must eek an existence from what is available.  Do you think they can afford to care?

    What about all of those peoples who have never been given enough information in a timely manner that would allow them to care.

    Just how do you think "Modern"  3rd/4th world countries can practice racism, ethnic cleansing, genocide with out the use of a large military, how else to control your enemies?

    The world is not yet ready to care!  Only those that can will.  I applaud them in their efforts to correct a hideous situation.  my nickle.

    She has a very, very good point!

    Excerpts from: Zimbabwe: Poaching Gets Out of Control in Zimbabwe - April 2015

    "Poaching has reached alarming levels in the country's national parks and Zimbabwe risks being expelled from the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES) after losing about 30 percent of its rhino population in less than three years. CITES is an international body who duty is to regulate and supervise the trade among members states on endangered species.

    The country is believed to have lost about 200 rhinos since 2012, a figure animal welfare groups consider too high."

    <snip>

    "There has been rampant poaching in the country's sanctuaries and it is feared that some animal species especially the rhino might face extinction.”

    <snip>

    "Poaching in the country is particularly rampant in the Gonarezhou, Save Valley Conservancy and Hwange National Park.

    Senior government officials have been fingered in such offenses."

    From Time - "This is How Many Animals Were Killed in Zimbabwe in the Last 20 Years" - July 30, 2015

    "The landlocked, southern African nation is one of the hardest-hit places on the continent when it comes to the killing of big game, both legal and illegal. It is a country where, Slate reports, “hunters exported 49 lion trophies in 2013 alone” and where, since Cecil’s death “it’s likely that at least a dozen other lions have been shot by trophy hunters.”A 2013 study in the journal Public Library of Science estimates that 96 lions were hunted per year between 1996 and 2006 in the country and 43 per year more recently. Lion trophy hunts were banned there in 2005 but allowed again after 2008."

    I'm not saying I approve of what happened, I don't.

    But where is the outrage over Zimbabwe policy and enforcement?

    Cecil the lion's brother Jericho has been shot dead in Zimbabwe by illegal hunters, a local conservation group said Saturday.

    More instigation by the holier than thou activists. Totally false.

    Good point Paul....I wonder how much food the same $50,000 US dollars (plus flight to Zimbabwe and additional expenses) could have been purchased, in African prices, and put towards feeding the hungry...Im thinking thats a hell of a lot of food and medicine.
