    Paul. aside from medicines, all I could find on internet was the use of a darkened room, cool damp cloths, exercise, no caffeine or alcohol and certainly don't be staring at bright computer screen.

    They don't really know what causes migraines, ergo, they have no specific cure.

    good luck

    PaulTon:

    I have suffered from migraines since I was a teenager, in the last year I have been getting them more frequently and they are getting more severe and lasting longer (2 days now).

    I know that various foods can trigger them, so I avoid these. Does anyone know of any way to reduce the symptoms? I don't mean meds, I have those but they don't always work.

    Any fellow sufferer will understand what I go through, so does anyone have any advice on coping strategies or natural remedies that may help me?  Please!!

    Howzit Paul

    I get migraines, sometimes very severe ones.

    Medication-wise, the only thing that works for me, is something called Migril. Otherwise, it's off to the local hospital for a nice pethedine drip.

    None of the so-called migraine cocktails work for me.

    I also tried cutting out caffeine and MSG, eating vegetables every night, reduce red meat intake, no red wine etc etc. Nothing reduced the severity.

    I now have a new theory (A theory which is mine) <---geddit?

    It's atmospheric pressure.

    Whenever the barometer drops/raises, I seem to get a migraine.

    Anyway, I don't have enough data yet to prove my theory.

    Try the Migril's though - they really work for me.

    Cheers,

    Peter

    Paul, I suffer from "Cluster Headaches"  In all honesty they make migraines look like an icecream brain freeze.  What I have found however may be of some help to you sir.  Find yourself a good doctor and obtain a letter for medical O2 (oxygen).  When I feel a cluster headache coming on, I get straight to my cylinder don my mask and inhale pure O2 at about 10litres per minute.  Kills the cluster dead inside 5 minutes.  I know it works for me and hopefully may give you the relief you seek sir.  Worth a try.  Good luck  :)

    I don't mean to lessen the pain of a migraine by my comment, but if you google "cluster headaches" you will understand.

    Paul when l was a younger man in my 20's l suffered from those Migraines that could go on for 2, days apart from the viloent headaches l had the vomiting flashing lights and no strength felt floppy like a rag doll could not go to work until it past.

    The doctor told me a food allergy could be the cause the old favourites cheese , nuts, l stopped eating but made no difference, at about the same time l had decided to quit smokeing purely to save money.

    it turned out the smokeing was the Trigger of my attacks as soon as l stopped Smokeing the migraines Stopped immediately Hope you find the Trigger to your attacks mate migraines really mess up your life

    You are going to love it...great lookin' chicks with class, dudes named 'Hoss' , Tex and Bubba. Great homes, and awesome food variety. Crime. Cops that mean business. Best of all, it is just a few hours south of Tulsa where you can play Southern Hills...if you know someone rich and important....I play it everytime I visit ;-}....oh, get some good cowboy boots, skip the Tony Lama crap and run with Lucchese, or better, Dan Post...they will be helpers as you pursue the above...not 'Hoss', no,  the classy lassies  ~SP~

    ````oh, buy a Stetson. Avoid the straw ones, as they look cheap and gaye....
    Hi I'm Alex. From Costa Rica (Central America).  48.  Advertising, Marketing and Musician.  Have lived practically all over the world (working - no pleasure) but now I plan to stay in my home country.  Love golf - virtual and real.  I stink at real golf, so WGT satisfies my darkest ego problems on that (lol).  Currently live close to the ocean (15 mins), work as little as possible but enough to keep my addictions.  Love my wife and kids.  Some of you know I can be a pain ... since I have this complex of trying to live in a nice world, which I know it's an utopia, but, whatever ! ... Oh ... and I know who Yancy is !!!  By the way, I just posted this thread :  We Real Golfers !
    Have fun and play well ;)
