    Hi,

I am a level 38 pro ( the pro bit could be changed to a reasonable amateur really!), can anyone recommend a good set of clubs for my level. Looking to drive the ball an extra 30 yards, and reduce the meter speed a bit. Will spend a bit to get right club as I now feel I've reached as far as i can go with WGT starter set.

Well looking at your stats I think you might be better of investing in some wedges and a driver and perhaps waiting for the rest until you have more choice at a higher level.

    I would go with these.

Precious and spin are second to none.

Yes but you want him to spend money. Unless someone has excess cash I see no real reason to update your whole set until you reach the Master tier. Then you'll need to.

Hello, im with WGTicon on this one. I used the r11 irons all the way up to Legend tier. They are alittle pricey, but if credits isnt an issue then these irons will do the trick :)  Meter speed is good & has great forgivenes. Coupled these with the atv wedges & the r11 driver & your set. You will need to upgrade drivers fairly frequent, though. Or you can just wait til your able to get the g20 driver.       Hope it helps & have fun out there

    WGTicon:

Can't argue with that ^^ club choice, they were my 1st set till the L69 ballZ and a great set they were too.......

However knowing what I know now I would probably wait for the L59 G20 set as you learn a greater variety of shots with the starter set .(you HAVE to !!) and just buy the RballZ L26 3w which you can use as a driver too in the mean time.

If credits are not an issue then go with Icons choice, either way as C says you need to get new wedges as the starter ones are very poor. Once again if credits are no probs try the ATVs or Cleves you can get now or the budget option of the L40+ Pings you can get soon enough.Remember to use the punch shot with them for extra yardages.

Drop hybrid for 3rd wedge , I used to find looking at the top scorers / RG finishers in the next tier up from the one I was in was a good indicator of what clubs and set up works..gl

    hi RB

if you haven't problems with swing speed meter - R11 is good choice. you can buy (or rent)  3WD club - R11 Wood (L30+) costs under 400 credits, like mine. if your 'feel' when you play with it is good, then buy driver R11 or R11s - almost same speed. speed of my wedge clubs (Pings L41+) are similar like my driver and 3WD (R11). think about that similar speed for your new putter. my old putter -  tour starter L7+ (120 credits), with little bit faster meter then other starters, - served me very well almost 3 month. i have no experience with irons. someone else will help you. you will see very big difference in the game (and pleasure, too) if you improve any of your clubs. good luck.

edit: i always play with starter balls

I can't argue with any of the advice given, in depends on budget. Until you make Masters Tees you can use the starters set, but it obviously is harder with the attributes of the clubs, The R11 set is great but you will find yourself wanting to upgrade again when the g20s become available.

As a bare minimum, 3 good wedges will help hugely and and even with the SD ball, you will get the ball closer - no need for the hybrid as above. I used the starters until I made masters, then my first set was based on meter speed (Raptures)- and found myself upgrading as soon as the G20s were available (with hindsight the Raptures were a total waste for the time I used them). Meter speed was in my mind an issue but in reality was just a mental block. Yes faster meter speeds do take getting used to. Bear in mind the wedges are faster and I assure you that you quickly adapt.

A better driver will help, but always bear in mind this will only be a short term buy. It doesn't take long to level up at your stage, so use the time to get to know your game better, using ALL shots and knowing how to use them. For example, I didn't use a punch shot (unless in deep rough) until I made Masters - I was simply oblivious to the great results it can produce.

Most of all enjoy the game and the journey
