Putting is NOT the hardest part of the game - if you have a good entry into the green. under 10 ft distance, it isnt so hard. you will quickly learn. you should try to improve your short shots or to improve your wedge clubs (not so expensive, at around 40th Level, you need 1 week or so to do that)

Absolute junk. Throw them in the nearest pond.

I real life very basic clubs and driving range balls will only take you so far! On WGT this is also the case with a twist that it's done in an enhanced fashion (latter IMHO). It's that simple!

Agreed. But get the value out of them first. They offer one less thing to think about when you are beginning. Play with them for a little while and get used to what happens around the green. Try different shot options with them (pitch, chip, flop, full, punch) to get the feel of each shot. Once you have done that (and it should only take a few rounds) throw them in the nearest pond (but not Saint Andrew's #1, because that is where I throw all my old clubs and it is starting to fill up now :))

The regular starter gear gets many people to the master level. Let us not forget that!
