This will be my 3rd year playing WGT.
Now I remember most players names who've been caught cheating....especially the ones that got caught administering a perfect execution of "The Shommie". (posting screenies showing clear evidence of the offending software running.
However, from the legend players caught for example, I personally would not even have rated them as a mid rate legend and certainly nowhere near a top player, so I'll say this.
From the results I've seen of cheats posting, if I was playing credit games a lot more, I know I would have absolutely nothing to worry about beating their scores.
Their scores were and still are so easily beatable. The simple fact that they have to resort to using an illegal 3rd party software to either hit ding utopia or seek a perfect shot means they are pretty much amongst the lower rankings of their tier and are most likely shyte putters.
I've yet to see or hear of one person using these programs that would give me something to worry about....and they are certainly not a player for Danno, Bolly, Priestess or Genorb to worry about.
On that not I'd like to add that the competition between decent legends and decent tour legends is stronger today than it's ever been and I'd go as far to say that the competition has never been stronger because the pool of players is much bigger today.
People using them proggies are a blight to this game just as they are to any game on the net......but I know how good I can play on a consistent basis, so if there's anyone using a cheattie wants to match my $1000 (paid via paypal) in matchplay or stroke play, then bring it on. Any player going into a match playing by the rules will always have the real advantage against another player who needs to use a cheat because he/she has a crisis of confidence with their own game.
I will add that I do agree with what Jason said......in that posting "cheats" in the open forum actually solves nothing. People will read the post, people will then forget about the post, then the post vanishes. Even if the post didn't get deleted, then nothing still would be solved. We'd still read later down the line " I got beat...not fair...the guy was cheating!"...bla bla.
The way forward is to work with WGT and work in private. Inform WGT via email or by contacting Icon & Co in private. Advertising everything in the open means it's there for all to see but people start squabbling, profanities usually ensue, forum posting rules get broken, then posts get removed etc...etc...etc.
I can't blame WGT for removing such posts. They are only trying to protect their business. People must remember....yes..players read these forums BUT so do potential WGT advertisers & potential sponsors and other establishments WGT would like to attract extra revenue from.
WGT is a game to us and a great game it is......but to WGT & their employees it's their business & what puts money on the table to pay bills and feed their families...we need to remember that.
*** We also need to remember to keep posts within the rule guidelines. :)
