In Honor of Opening Day

  It was in 1973 , Braves & Giants , at Candlestick Park . I was 12 , and Hank Aaron was hot on the Babes trail . Like many times , they wouldnt pitch to Mr. Aaron. The braves still won , and it was still a great game. Ive been blessed to see the record change twice in my life time.Hopefully I would love to see it one more time , for the good of the game. I left the west coast back in 79 never to return.My dads gone on to be with the lord , but I m thankful for the memories , that he left me. Happy Swinging

  In case it missed you the point we were making is this is WORLD GOLF, i.e. a game about golf covering the entire golf. Therefore a threat about baseball a game played only in a select few nations is somewhat contradictory and perhaps should be in another thread.

  But no problem, you just go on taking yourself OH so serious.

  We are all sports fans and there is no harm in talking about other sports, just like we would on the course.  When I am playing golf with friends I know I will talk about a wide aray of subjects and not just golf.  So if you have a sport you would like me to start a thread on please let me know and I will be more then happy to.

  Just like a lot of you talk about soccer and rugby that most of us could care less about.  But we don't trash you for talking about it like you seem to doing here.And WGT does make WGT baseball on facebook.

  I totally agree and see no harm at all in talking other sports on here. Having said that ChinaJohns comments were made with wit and I am sure no malice was intended,

  I must admit I have only ever been to two MBL games, one in Boston and one at the old Yankee Stadium. Great atmosphere at both (Yankees playing in both) but having watched many games on TV I was a little surprised at the slow speed of the game.

  A good mate has a baseball sitting in his study (caught a homer) from a MBL game, sitting with pride with a golf ball (HIO) and several model planes - shows the love of the game of our American friends even when they no longer live in the US.

  You know what....this arguing and bickering has gone on long enough....if u you havent used a cheat...great....if ur using a cheat....why???  this is a freaking GAME...its not life or death...there are more important things to worry about...the way i see it..(and get this straight...i will NEVER....EVER...use a cheat to gain an advantage in a childrens game)  u guys are just pushing each others buttons to get under each others skins because tu either have a jealousy issue with each other or neither of you have ever grown up....LET IT GO AND PLAY THE FRIGGIN GAME AND STAY AWAY FROM EACH OTHER....plain and simple....if u have to cheat then it means u can do nothing for yourself w/out help...i pity those who do

  NY and BOS games are the slowest on the planet!  An average baseball game is 3 hours or so, the NY and BOS games always go over 4 hours.  It is crazy.
