bethpage hole 12!

  Hi

  I simply can't find the right calculation for my approach shot. Otherwise I go

  short or long...  Just play hole 12, had 201 to hole wind 7 left to right with a slightly

  headwind, pin place back.  Gave it 209 almost  full backspin, and it went 205!!

  Any suggestions?

  Should of gave it full bs i find it does not play as long and its not uphill as stated.

  If the hole was 201 and the ball stopped 205, is that so bad from over 200 yards away?We're talking 4 yards or a 12 foot birdie putt.

  When you play after 54-56 bethpage 18 holes you need your calculations right!

  Or almost right...

  I find the back pin plays right for yardage but you might get some roll out on the shot.  The front pin seems to play a couple of yards longer than stated though - haven't figured that one out yet.

  Yes I agree to shoot 54-56, your calculations have to be right. Your putting has to be right as well.

  I agree with notonthis and spammage.

  I find the back pin tends to get more rollout, so I try to play to land a little short, maybe 2-3 yards depending on wind.

  I would have played 4i fbs and 97% or so to land 199 ish with a slight headwind or 5i neutral spin would land 196 ish but roll more.

  When 52 is winning 18 hole rg at bethpage, you MUST be perfect for all 18 holes if you want to win or place well. I've had 26 on both 9's a few times but cant get it right over 18, I usually make a dumb mistake or 2 somewhere along the line lol

  yep spamage is correct front pin is longer i always give it 5 yards extra works for me and the back pin allow for a little bit of roll. its my favourite course i play it a lot.
