Darn - so that's why I can never get close, using the darn putter all the time :)

I'd like to start a petition so that no one could use the keyboard when making a forum post.

    BigInigoMontoya:

guess my question is, what is the proper technique for using a wedge on the greens? Clearly a flop shot did not work here, but will that always be the case???  Is the proper technique to blast it full power with a full swing, or would a punch shot work better?  And would a lofted club such as an 8i or 9i work better, or do you have to play a wedge for the shot to work?

I use 64 Cleve full club...... 30 yds = 30 ft roughly. Wind and slope have some bearing on the shot, but thats a good starting point to try. Good luck !

This is PW punch ;;;; It works OK too http://www.wgt.com/replay.aspx?ID=3fc1a17b-6049-4acb-aa8d-a218016ae676

That sounds like fun. How 'bout if we all start with any club and the player with the best score calls the club for the next hole.? Either putter---wedge-- or whatever you prefer as the choices. Game on !!

I like the sound of that, but I regretfully have to say, I will need time to practice with a wedge, I've never used it on a green.  Are you in Tightrope?

Im amazed this thread got to 16 pages long. The first page of the thread told you all the answer to the question. WGT rules clearly state, as do the rules of golf, "any club you have in your bag may be used at any time, anywhere on the course". ...If you want to adjust the rules to suit your liking or preference  why not ask for an eagle every time you hit a wedge off the tee? or a free drop next to the flag anytime you hit in the rough. Telling the makers of any game to change the rules and make players use the type of tools/weapons you think should be used is beyond ignorant.  Especially a virtual element. ....Its a game guys, a game...Games have rules...When you make your own game you can make the rules. BTW,  My name is Rose..I'm the girl Ross (Romax) told you about and will be his partner when you feel you have the stones to come out and play. Better practice up. Yea, I can putt.....or not

Haha... OK. The wedge is so easy to use though , you should have it down in a day or so. Seeya Friday. BTW Dubie.... This game is all just  about fun for me and thats why I play here. The friends I have made here are priceless and the game itself means diddly-chit to me. Cheers !

Here is a thought. ..Tournaments are made every day. Look in the front of the forum for instructions on making or posting your own tournament. You can make a tournament, invite your friends, your enemys, the big bad wolf, anyone you feel worthy of your "special"  skill tournament.. Toss in your own set of rules. Be happy and stop all this nonsense.....

You talk a lot of nonsense Rosy. if you had read the arguments of both sides, you will know why this thread went on so long, their is a specific point to the objections of using wedges in certain competitions, I'm not going to repeat mine or others.  This forum is for opinions, and we ar entitled to ours.  Some of your comments are the most ridiculous of them all.  In my opinion.
