Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to believe that the cut line is 58 and the leader is at 53.

I've only been playing for a little while, but I play a deceny amount. Tour Pro, level 78, average 70.9. This is really only due to amount of play, best 18 holes only 2under, 9 holes maybe 3 under. So I don't claim to be good, but course set upis probably close to true conditions, except par might be 70. A combined Palmer, Nicklaus, Woods clone could  not  shoot 53 at Merion. I know it's a game but it does claim to be realistic. This tournament is a joke. I do enjoy many aspects of WGT, but too many strange quirks. Stopped spending any money. Back to original golf balls. Also can't putt. Would be interested in your comments. Also any putting tips.

Take the time to look at all the stats in the Profiles of those players who are at the top of the Qualifying ladder. Look at their join dates and look at the amount of ranked rounds they've played compared to yourself. Imagine yourself with that colossal amount of experience they have. Now imagine somebody here diminishing all those accomplishments because they can't do it too.

The top players in the qualifier are really just shooting their averages. They expect to shoot those scores because they've done it a lot of times before. They play to an extremely high standard they set for themselves. Success is defined that way.

    These guys/gals are good. Period.

This game is very realistic from a visual perspective. There the realism ceases as it is a computer game. To expect scores to be in line with real tournament golf is expecting too much.

You have played the equivalent of 285 ranked rounds of 18 holes. You don't have the top equipment and by your own admission cannot putt. Clearly you are still learning the game and it's only natural for you to think these scores are crazy.

I have played the equivalent of 5,018 ranked rounds of 18 holes. I have probably played another 2,000 in practice mode. I have played over 1,000 matchplay games and 400 alt shots. If after wasting half your life during the next 3 years playing this game, as I have in the last 3, you find you are not shooting way lower scores I will be very surprised indeed.

ps I think 53, 54s etc are crazy too but you shouldn't under estimate just how good the top players are :)

    Agreed.

Next time I play round Gleneagles.....I only wish my GIR was 91.6% or 1 putts were 70% :)

Tiff I am getting there , with no improvement and going downward. I am not under estimating anyone including myself. I think the game plays different for different people. I watch the videos, I do the math , I use the same formula to figure shots as the top players I can when the meter allows hit the ding, or no hit the ding, yet my results are way way off.

Just telling my story  my friend

The game is allowing me to shoot between 64 -60 85 % of the time. I even have a formula that tells you how far to move the marker and it has a tolerance of +/- 3 yards

Replied through email, guess that does not post. Short version, I am not knocking the players. Just the game for allowing 400 yard drives and 53 scores on that course. Make it impossible for me to break 100 and the leader to shoot 63. Yes I do expect more realism in the game.

ps  tiffer67, you should really consider other options for your free time besides wgt golf. I enjoy it also, but that a lot of rounds.

Thank you for your concern westie37 but I can assure you I am comfortable with the amount of WGT I now play. I was a man of leisure for 8 months 18 months ago, that's when the daily usage was at its peak. Now I don't get the chance to play as often, working for a living really sucks :)

It does tend to get in the way of having some fun. Keep hitting them straight on WGT. But can you agree that 400 yard drives are too long? Can the best players shoot in the low 60s and the lesser ones in the high 90s. That wouldn't spoil WGT, would it?

Just the game for allowing 400 yard drives

My longest drive in real life is around 7.5 kilmotres FACT!

I was on the 10th Tee at Braid Hills GC and put too much draw on the ball which went left over the fairway and bounced onto the main road during peak hour traffic......where it bounced around 20 ft in the air amid a frenzy of car horns tooting and into the back of a ford transit pick up which was heading back to it's work place......7.5 kilometres away.

I assume the ball never stopped rolling about in the back of the truck therefore wasn't stationery....so my longest drive record stands because on the 10th tee there is no out bounds down the left hand side. It wasn't deemed a lost ball either because I could have jumped in a car and played it from where it came to rest 7.5 km away but probably would have got penalised for slow play.

I'm not sure what my score for that hole would have turned out to be...probably more than 10 :)  so I just played 3 off the tee and carried on.
