all this talk from u good players is enough to make an average player like me, very very despondent.

Was finally able to cobble together a 57 in the Open qualifier a few weeks ago after more than a few 58's.  It was a strange round, a 27 on the front that included holing a couple of very long putts coupled with a scrambling 30 on the back.  If 57 qualifies, I'm like MBags...will post whatever turns up and be glad to do it.

But as noted by many, the VEM seems to have been set to extreme in the qualifier lately, and other places as well, so for the present it's strictly alt and mp for me...much more fun and seemingly not as manipulated.

One can only hope that the powers-that-be get the message and bring VEM back to a more reasonable level at some point.

I for one would like to see the VEM removed. I do not think that it is right or fair, that your game is at the mercy of WGT's VEM. Or, in other words, the luck of the draw.

Recently I played a Country Club tournament where I shot 9 under par for 9 holes. Had only 8 putts. THIS IS NOT MY GAME. On a regulation 9, my normal score would be around 34.

On other days, same course, my score would soar to a 39 or 40. Again, not my game. Just the luck of the draw.

Let the good players, those that have played thousands or rounds, shoot their low scores. Even the pros if they only played on a 1/2 dozen different courses would shoot in the low 50's.

Again, put it back so that if I miss the ding, my shot will suffer, but if I ding the shot, it should go where I have aimed it. Leave the skills at making your allowances for wind, and elevation changes.

Have some of the long time players figured out how to use VEM to their advantage?

there are obvious signs to look out for when VEM is most likely to strike....and i'm saying no more on that matter. this info was given to me recently & will remain in confidence.

from my initial findings...it seems the info is indeed correct.

i only wish i'd had it a year or so ago.

Then why even mention it if you're not going to share. You talking out of school on some confidential info shared with you?

Teah, come on TBE, share the love dude, lol.

Just to say this on the subject. I started a new game in my CC area just a little while ago. I had a 17mph wind on the 1st tee at St Andys, that was going from right to left. The meter is as smooth as ice, but then decides to freeze on me before the line in front of the ding. Sometimes you see it coming, sometimes you just panic and hit the ball.

So i lose a new ball (Why is it always a new ball, huh?) but i still have 3 left. I suck it up and take my next shot, only to see the 17mph right to left wind have no effect. I decide to stop the game, switch to free balls, and then i get to finish off the game.

This has to be happening with other folks now (switching to the free ball) and is probably hurting ball sales for WGT. Because i know when its coming, i will not give WGT the satisfaction of using up a paid for ball when i know it aint going to happen.

    put yer teeth back in

WTF is your fixation with my teeth?

I think you're peeing into the wind, you don't have any great piece of info and if you do you're an azz for saying you do and not sharing it.

*edit-You might think twice before making a jerk out of yourself with comments like the teeth thing. Too bad you didn't edit it fast enough. Thinking twice precludes having to edit your posts.
