In my CC, well it's not mine I belong to it, we're  having lively discussions on what to do about the level of participation of current members. In most tourneys we have it runs between say 15%-40% the latter being a "great" turnout. In the few other clubs that I know members this percentage seems to hold pretty steady. So, I'm just curious if this level of participation is indicative of WGT as a hole. Would be interested in the feedback on this.

    thanks

Well after playing a RG on cabo last night and having 14 dinged approach shots travel 10yrd left or right of pin with ZERO WIND i dont really feel like wasting much time on this game anymore.

Been in 3 different CCs, trying to find one where lots of different people play. They were all about the same; my current one I play a couple tourneys a week. I may be part of the problem though, as there are like 6-7 always going. I like the weekly WGT tourneys too, so I don't play all I could.

Our club can get up to 70% participation in some events.

On average though its about 40+

Wind doesnt come into play on putts.. unless its around 20mph

Perhaps you could try wasting some of this time by participating within your own country club?

Both VERY good turnouts, as I would say the average is well below that for the clubs I have been in (albeit not many) and I am sure your turnout probably reflects on the owners efforts,  and other clubs with owners who put in the time and effort will be in a similar position.

I thought approach men't trying to get onto the green? Whats that called? Like 2nd shot on a par 4.. ?? Anyways i was using my ping irons and every shot i dinged moved 10yrd either way with zero wind. Even when it showed the wind arrow pointing left it would sometimes go right, not that it should move at all.

You can remove me from your CC, i dont like your tournaments.

Well done FBudd. This had the makings of a good thread until you walked all over it.

Hi Ms Fish, as you have one of the bigger and better country clubs here (as does Shrude), do you mind me asking what your turnout percentages are like?

    And what a comment

What is Shrude doing to his members, forcing them to use starters clubs or 3 club comps exclusively? Sounds like he is not winning (let alone playing them) so come into a thread and hijacks it.

Edit - I see you use the Raptures, good clubs but they are not as precise as many other sets, which may partly explain the accuracy, and yes you are right, they are approach shots.

Ok, but I'll have to get out my calculator and take my shoes and socks off.

Currently it's between 10% and 40%. Although I have had over 100 entrants for special tournaments. A tourny on St. Andrews will get more entries than one at Oakmont because it's an easier course and some people are only interested in lowering their average. Different people expect different things from a club, some virtually live there while others just look in for half an hour at weekends. Although an owner does their best, they'll never please everybody.
