    Romax:

This was an interesting post to read. There are some really valid points noted that I had never really thought about before. At level 101, I am obviously not caught in that 90--98 cringing level trying to get the top clubs. Hell---I got good clubs and still suck. The game to me now is all about friends and some fun.

thx for your input mate ..

being at lvl 101 certainly puts you in the sweet spot .. however, i have to wonder, how many regular players are there at that level ? the fall off & abandon point, in terms of regular play, falls exactly within the range you have mentioned .. lvl 90 - 98

this is where WGT needs to step up and retain regular play .. this is the range where, after a notable slog, you find yourself on a desolate tract looking for an oasis ..

Chris, there is one point that Romax makes and should apply to us all. He plays for fun and to play with mates - this is THE most important aspect and I fear many of us just get tired of the same games every day. If we are solely playing for the "next upgrade" then we are probably playing for the wrong reasons.

But a player in the high 90's has hit a lot of balls on a limited amount of courses - and this could be one reason why they fall off and abandon or reduce theiir play around this point.

Also Ducati had a similar point re preventing sandbagging, by not allowing the full potential of the club to be used unless you are at the highest tier as I alluded to.. Anyone who plays alt knows that feeling of the Master (or lower) with the same clubs and also has a huge distance advantage.

i hearya mate .. like i said, i also play for fun .. have never played a RG & likely never will..

i enjoy a game of a/s as much as the next guy, but part of the fun for me is variety &  choice, not only club wise, but also in terms of game mode, courses etc .. to my mind, especially when one likes a/s, courses aren't the problem .. the problem is this "Anyone who plays alt knows that feeling of the Master (or lower) with the same clubs and also has a huge distance advantage." .. to quote you

i'm not saying change the system or reinvent the wheel .. keep it as is, flawed as it may or may not be .. simply do this though .. give L's + more choice at level 90 +

IMO a club bought should have the full attributes regardless of tier.  If it does not then we are really just in club for tier system which WGT do not like for reason's we all know and mostly accept. Whilst it is also human nature to want the best a new L63 Legend will not get access to L90+ equipment in the current business model.  Now competition may change thins huge, but that indeed would be huge, and so I will leave that IMO remote possibility to one side.

I have seen a few player's leave the game also - get to Legend and just say "how long must be joking" and can't be bothered.  If that is indicative of anything overall then is not good for WGT. For some good time I have chimed in several places advocating a big pro shop shake L88+ at least.

Below say L70 a new tips tier to take away any we can't compete gripe may also be worth thinking about - WGT have the numbers as I have said before.  People who came across this game a year or 3 before newer players sometimes say what we used to compete with, but frankly the newer players could not give a flying anything about that, not least because disparity did not exist then as now, and the simple human nature thing.................It's another good thread and eventually WGT may listen I hope and do something.................

All that said well done on the L93 limited edition, just more of that and the various other suggestion's made by people here......

Thank you Jim .. you are reaffirming my point ..

i can't tell you how many players at my tier and level i've spoken to, ingame chatbox, Skype & e-mails, who have harped on this very issue .. diffirence being, i don't see those players around anymore ..

there's this other passion of mine which i indulge in from time to time .. sim racing .. the only similarity to WGT is that one has to advance through licence levels that unlocks new racing cars & the ability to participate in new series .. but each license level presents so much choice that you are left having to pick which one you think you might like best ..

like i said .. demand & supply .. the staple of the free market mechanism

you are spoiled for choice up to lvl 90 .. and when you turn that corner ? erm ..

i just thought "you know what, i'm gonna indulge my passion for racing .. at least i will not sense that ever present undercurrent of frustration given the choices i have there"

i also agree that a club's attributes should not be tampered with .. u're a M or TM teeing off with a R1 .. good onya .. but look pal, i'm packin' the same club as a lvl90+ Legend, so lets see who's who ..

i'm not advocating this at all .. there's enough choice on clubs right up to lvl 90 .

I see where you're coming from, but you don't need The R1 or R11S to be competitive as Legend or TL, up until about 6 weeks ago, I used the R11 driver (not R11s) and with it RG's have kept me in balls, a few wedge up grades the R11s 3wood, allowed me to gift several sleeves of balls, play CC comps and a lot of AS for over a year with reaching into my pocket...don't get me wrong, the R1 does make it much easier to score...but missing your mark on an approach shot, still leaves a 15-20 footer you have to make;)

Anyway, best of luck in your quest.

i understand MB & agree completely .. a good drive won't salvage a chit approach .. drive for show & all that ..

i'm not implying that i need a driver to score low .. heck, i just gave my Bladez a work out on Beth back 9 and carded a 28 .. in fact , i probably like the Bladez a tad better than the R11's .. but here's my point .. i own both sets of irons. Why ? because i want to exercise that choice .. and it gives me variety & freedom to experiment with .. 'cause it satisfies my demand ..

i don't play RG's .. i'm happy, like countless others, to shelve out a couple $'s a month to entertain this hobby .. provided i have freedom of choice .. i'm not in bagger territory at lvl 90 .. WGT loses nothing in opening up the pro shop to lvl 90 + L's & TL's .. look at the R1 special edition .. how many jumped at that opportunity ?

give lvl 60 M's & TM's an incentive to make Legend by lvl 90, 'cause then they also can stampede the pro shop if they so wish when they reach said level .. in the meantime, the lvl 94 Master only unlocks the R11s at lvl94, but if u're at Legend and you hit lvl 90, then the pro shop doors are wide open to you ..

not only are WGT creating goodwill, but this can be employed as yet another mechanism towards discouraging bagging whilst simultaneously expanding their revenue stream & satisfying those individuals who get pi$$ed at WGT cause some TP or M are teeing off with a R11s or R1 off tees ahead of them .. it's an all round win situation without reinventing the wheel ..

Don't have any  answers. But there is a real problem with the game being boring as hell. I have hit the same shots so many times that it becomes routine. Some new  coarses and lots of different pin  positions  would help a little. I guess it is  inevitable the the bloom comes of the rose when you have played so long. What I do now is play one hole a day and am not sure about why I do that. Don't give a rip about the R1.  Tried  it in the free rental period and didn't find it much of and  improvement  over the R11's. Hope they come up with a  BRILLIANT idea to save the game as it seems to be slipping away. At least for me.
