We haven't had a Virtual Open since 2011, and last year we didn't have it. Is WGT's contract with British Open over? How come we don't have a Virtual Open again for the second straight year? Please direct me to the thread that says that there is going to be no Virtual Open this year again in Muirfield.

There has never been comment from WGT (that I have seen) saying that we will not be getting Murfield. Perhaps this evening we will get updates and wake up to Murfield on WGT.

Sadly not! But there have been several threads regarding the silence and lack of any confirmation. Many "Open" Courses are privately run, and run by the snootiest idiots that British Society produces and obviously WGT would be unbecoming for them.

Will we get another Open Course in the future? I would hope so, but who knows. What pisses me off of WGT would know wellin advance that a course is not available, but no alternatives are planned.

This is from a fairly recent Wiki article.

In WGT's tie-in with the R&A for The Open Championship, it may release further courses in the rota in future years, but so far no long-range commitment between WGT and the R&A has been announced.

Thanks Richard, and that also would tie in with only Pinehurst and the Bandon Dunes Par 3 planned at this stage for next year.

    Another lean year lol

Last year, when Royal Lytham didn't happen, Mister WGT did at least come on here and officially inform us and try to explain to us how it did not come about. This year, nothing. There hasn't been a webchat since November.  I also note from his personal twitter account that he hasn't tweeted since Christmas. This lack of communication from the top doesn't bode very well.

it's just straight up pathetic is what it is .. in my experience silence like this is often followed by a bomb shell .. perhaps WGT is about to change hands ? i cannot come up with any other explanation for this lack of communication from the top .. i would understand it, to an extent, if we found out later that they were in the midst of negotiations

Naaw mate, just same old, same old...

Only been putting in the hours I used to in the last 10 / 12 days, and nothing seems to have changed. (sigh)

Maybe my expectations were too high ?

Amazing how I put up with the lack of. ?......EVERYTHING ? For 7 months to the Legend tier

And now get real pissed, real quick

Especially when COMMUNICATION is all we asking for.....which doesn't cost 'one red cent'

Chris, for a while now I've had the feeling that TGC will buy the game.  I don't have any hard evidence, just the feeling of something going on behind the scenes.

If that happens, I think we'd see plenty of innovations and plenty of new courses, since I'm pretty sure TGC (and NBC) have very deep pockets.

Ands, i hear you bud, but like mkg i sense this entire thing has an odd feel about it .. perhaps i've been back way to short to get a proper sense .. but s.hit man, it makes zero sense for MrWGT to say goodbye to a top player, only to circumvent all the requests for comms from the top ?

why would they not come into the forums to address suggestions and such if there's not something preventing them from behind the scenes ? unless it's complete stupidity or utter madness .. ???
