I honestly can't understand what all the fuss is about! The balls are being replaced by newer versions both on here and in real life.

No price increase and similar specs so what's the problem?

The Ping G10's were replaced by G20's along with many others without all this wringing of hands and twisting of knickers!

P.S. My R11 irons are exactly the same as when I got them.

    Question for WGT:

In the Upcoming Product Releases - Mid 2013 it refers to new Callaway equipment.

Is this change of ball classed as new Callaway equipment or can we expect to see something else from them in August/September?

When you've calibrated ALL your clubs and ALL your shots using a particular type of ball 'similar' isn't enough, I want exactly the same or i'm going to have to go out and recalibrate all my shots using the new balls, this takes a lot of time and quite a bit of money, I estimate it will take 312 shots to recalibrate all my shots and clubs.

So as long as WGT inproves the performance of the balls( Callaways) then there should be no problem. But if they decrease in any way then that's a different story

With an avg distance to pin of 17 feet, my guess you won't notice a thing...heck, I can switch from Nikes to Cally's, I still land in my putting comfort zone.

Are you thinking .07536 feet will cause you to recal your clubs?

Think about it for a moment...

A shot you have dialed in with wedge goes "X"

    New ball goes "X +/- a"

3 iron shot used to go "X"

New ball 3 iron shot not goes "X +/-a"

Since you seem to have tables, ...just scale it out...

Mercy the fuss over "No Price increase" and the words "upgrading the Callaway...."

    Chill folks

    Hi there,

Either you will need to play at a consistant level, meaning great play, or a little above average.  Or you will need to put out a little money for better equiptment which is what I did.  I think I did both and I would have bought better equiptment anyway regardless.  You will have to wait for the invite but if you hang in there it will come.  Hope this was helpful to you.  Good luck!

    Vic (BuddhaDharma).

Why discontinue the Tour series right away?  How about a month where both are available?

Even a week of overlap would be extremely helpful.

Probably because if the new ball turns out to be slightly inferior people would buy dozens of the old ball while it was still available.  This way you have to gamble.  Buy loads of S now?  Wait and see what the new one's like?   Either way, plenty of people are going to get plenty pizzed off.

Personally I'm not too bothered, I was thinking about swapping from Nike to Cally as it happens.  I honestly don't think the performance gain makes up for $2 more per sleeve but if the new ball is worse maybe I'll just have to find time to play some RG's.

Poor WGT, they can please some of the people none of the time and none of the people some of the time.  Mostly they please all of the people none of the time.

    +1......................

The point also I think is that WGT have largely brought this on themselves.  Trust is low, and that's why people feel nervous of anything WGT say is changing.  Wait and see...........Hopefully similar does not mean less durability...
