First off, anyone that says the where a fan,but no longer are,are the kind of fans the Raiders can do without and exactly the kind of thing i am talking about.when the going gets tough they jumpship and hop on the nearest bandwagon.

Isnt it strange that during the time that the Raiders began having troubles and 49rs where starting to do good that 49er fans where poping out of the wood work?i wonder how many of those 49er fans are now saints fans?

Regardess of what you or anyone else may think of Al Davis and the Raiders i stand behind my statment. Most fans of othere NFL teams are quitters.

    DeaneGithens:
Didn't they get busted for cheating the salary cap during those years?

Carmen Policy and Dwight Clark were fined (along with the 9ers) for salary cap violations (NY Times) in 2000 for some discrepancies in and around the mid 90's.  The team of the 80s... Walsh, Montana, Rice, et al was never implicated.

Eddie DeBartolo, Jr., lost the franchise to his family after a corruption trial involving LA Gov Edwards and a Riverboat Casino. (Wiki)

Since that time, we have been barely holding on with the mostly inneffective Yorks in control of the franchise.

Singletary was a brilliant choice for coach.

All we need now is a competent QB, or at least a comfortable one... (with those two beasts they got in the draft, there's a very good chance our QB can stay upright).

Not going to happen, rob... sorry.  As long as you have that piece of **** running the show... and running from stadium to stadium suing the hell out of anybody and everybody because his crappy teams can't sell out a bandbox.... they'll always be laughed at.

Explain this to me, oh wise raiderrob... why can't anyone watch the raiders home games on TV?  Why is the city of Oakland watching Seattle play Kansas City on the TV when the Raiders are home?  Why was senile grampa davis suing the NFL and Oakland for 100million?

Because they don't sell out.  They don't sell out because there aren't enough Raider fans who can afford to go to their games.  The product is crap and the prices are too high.  Does that mean the majority of raider fans are unemployed scrubs with too much black make-up in old Darth Vader masks, or does it mean that the market share (in SF and LA) has moved on to products that give a better value for the dollar?  Or does it mean that Davis can't find a stadium that he could fill?  I am sure the local high schools in Oakland would let them play there.

Look, you can be a raider fan all you want.  That's your decision and you have to live with it.  But as long as you, as fans, accept a crappy product wrapped up in a nice silver and black package.. and keep feeding senile davis all the money he'd ever want... you'll get exactly what you've always got....  a second rate team.

Oh, and btw, I've quit exactly 2 games in almost 2 years.

    Have a nice day.

I think it's the fans saying enough is enough, they are not going to the games until he makes better decisions with draft picks,I was really hoping Parcells was going to take over because he and Al are great friends, but he went to Miami, and quickly turned things around. We had some quality wins last year and hopefully will come into this season going forward, getting rid of Jamarcus Russell was a positive, what a bust,I'd like to know who interviewed that fool,he could barely read, let alone, memorize a NFL playbook.

I will not disagree with anything you've said, Deane...  But one thing that really bothers me is that his poor decisions are now having league-wide consequences.  Just because the Raiders over paid for Nnamdi Asomugha, (who is NOT the best corner in the league) the Jets are now in a contractual dispute with Darrelle Rivas (who IS the best corner in the league.)

    He needs to be stopped.

    To OP:

I am a Raider's fan, though not as knowledgeable as most in the daily activities of the Raiders, but I do know there are Raider's fans who know that the differences between there, their, and they're determine their appropriate use.  In the case of this topic title, was the use of word 'there' intended as a reference to a potential respondent's whereabouts?

I point this out in alignment with our "Commitment to Excellence".

BTW, this Raider fan shall not quit.

    Cheers,

Is a quiter anything like a quitter? LOL Now that I'm done jabbing at ya a bit in fun, you certainly may be onto something there. The Raiders are a resilient bunch no doubt. How else could you guys keep lining up year after year knowing that you're going to get blown out game after game? The Raider's only competition these days is the Lions in the Super Futility Bowl! hey, speaking for all the LIONS fans in the house (maybe its just me?) but dont be lumping us and our sorry ass woes in with Oakland's disfunctional family?!!! while we as fans may have something in common for sticking with and not quitting our loyalties to our putrid teams, the LIONS are finally on the road to recovery now that we have detoxed and purified ourselves from the inept clusterpuck EX-RAIDER MATT MILLEN.... why couldnt Al Davis have given him the keys to the Oakland front office instead of sending him to motown. Super Futility Bowl my ***! More like Oakland and... (buff? kc? st lou? cleve? )

Like they say on Monday Night Countdown "C'mon MAN!!!" Detroit has never even been to a Super Bowl and when they won the four championships there were only a few teams and leather helmets.,"C'mon MAN",and Matt Millen was a 49er most of his career or at least the better part of it."C'mon MAN",Detroit won 2 games last year against the worst teams in the leauge "C'mon MAN", Washington and Clevland. The Raiders won 5 games and three quality wins against Pittsburg who drubbed the Lions, and they beat Cincinatti who went to the Playoffs, and beat Denver before they went on the skid,so "C'mon MAN!!!!!! Maybe the Lions can change their uniform again and get three wins this year.....
