Even though I've never played a round with you, I would also say farewell and God bless you Hans...

And I would add only three things to his list of game improvements and the first  I'm sure would not be easy to cheat. No auto ding or meter slowing mechanism, or for that matter, calculation tool and aim pointer would be able to defeat variable wind speeds. In real life golf, gusting and dying winds are frustrating and unpredictable...

They should be within the ranges we already have, but determined by a random number generator with more than enough changes in speed and duration than could be easily calculated. I would think that it would be enough to shave 4-6 strokes off of the low 18 hole scores being posted now. The good putters would still do well though, and you would be able to see on your wind indicator exactly what was occuring so that you understand why your ball ended up X amount of feet right or left, short or long .... the VEM would be obsolete and not needed.

As already suggested by ChrisIronsBones, the fairways could be hardened to the point of rolling so fast you would not always want to use that big cannon on every hole or if you do, risk being in the rough.

Thirdly, together with the first two,  for tournaments of any real monetary value above the level of a ready go should have a heavy wind set. Low and moderate wind sets are just too easy. And by the word "real" I mean substantial....

    My ten cents ....

    Farewell Hans...

    Don

It truly is a shame to see some of the best players on WGT leave this game because of WGT's inability to appropriately handle the issues that would retain good players.  It seems as though WGT is only looking at one number as far as membership goes.  I just looked and as of 7:47 pm today CST, there are 7,491,118 registered accounts and it is growing by about 3500 per day.

Sadly, all the issues you mentioned need to be addressed and probably will not.  Their membership growth, and probably their bank account growth is leading them to believe they are on the right track.

Good luck to you, I am sure you will not be the only one that has reached the end of the line.

Very sad to see 1 of the best players leave, but let me be honest, i think its the beginning on a new time for WGT.

PP works hard on their game, but do it step by step and properly, dont make a BETA but takes the time it takes before they release their game. When that day comes i think we see almost all topplayers say goodbye WGT and start a new challenging carrier in the competitors golf! Then WGT have the newcomes to keep VEM and deviiate/steal money from by lost balls in places where you would have recieved it in real golf!

Well Hans, i've only seen you a few times play, but the leaderboard tell me you are 1 of the best players here, i'm just an average legend, cant score -23 on a 18 or -11 on a 9, but a good day i can go -6 - 8,on a 9, and 10-12 on a 18. If i have the perfect wind and luck with me. ;-)

    Hi Hans,

a very interesting post, one I found myself nodding in agreement with every point you eloquently made. Always very sad to see one of the very best players leave this wonderful game but I'm not surprised by it.

I myself haven't even opened the game browser in over a month, not a single shot hit in this period and I have to say that I haven't missed it in the slightest. Now that is something I never thought I'd see myself type, as my love of the game and the community has been strong since the first shot I hit. I'm afraid it's just not there anymore though, I didn't even complete my US Open round after spending endless hours qualifying.

I wish you good luck for the  future Hans and if you discover anything of the likes of this game elsewhere, mind and let us know on here. Although my playing days appear over I still like to read the forums :^)

yes sir you are correct, PP is well aware of the so call VEM that is here in WGT and in the words of the CCO they will never implement such a thing. They have other ideas to make the game more challenging .This game use to be fun and exciting but now it's become  just a meeting place to talk to the friends we made here. You hear maintenance down time and the first thing that comes into your head is ,how are they going to mess up the  game now . it's a sad sad day in WGT land
