Confirming I finished my Thursday tee time with B this evening.  I shot Par or better on 16 straight holes for the round of my life basically, while B did a very good job (IMHO) to overcome a few missed dings.  Final score B 73, with a penalty, and Inigo 71.  I'll have screenies and full hole by hole analysis available on Friday.

    Cheers,

    -Inigo

Inigo and I are in the clubhouse.

    bhoese 73

    BigInigoMontoya 71

Inigo booked 16 consecutive pars in every imaginable way.  But really, it's his story to tell.  All I'll say about my round (for now) is that it was still fun!

I had a total brain fart and aimed this shot to the left.  That's the kind of round I had.

Ouch Ben! That would certainly be a sure-fire route to a double... What a shame. A rotten way to finish.

Great! Thanks for the update, lj.

For anyone in need of a marker; I am available most anytime with fair warning.  Just let me know & try to give me at least 30 minutes notice & unless I'm asleep, I'll be there.         :-)

That's a wonderful offer, David. Thank you!

By the sounds of things, we may well have some takers, e.g. Neil (unclenewy), and JMan appear to have complicated scheduling issues.

I finally caught up with James (jlucky3333) and marked for his long-delayed opening round. He's in with a 75. Cards and pics will be posted shortly.

And there they are already, lol!

James had a tough time with the putter (evidenced by almost the lowest total distance putts made for the round), otherwise his score would have been very fine indeed.

He was unlucky too with some difficult winds, especially on the easier par 3s, which played downwind to front pins. But then we got tailwinds on some of the longer, tougher holes, both making regulation 2-putt pars on #15, for instance. James played shot of the day at #9, having found rough with his second, and had to punch out: from 30-odd yards short of green he played a stupendous pitch that took the slopes and almost rolled round and back in down the hill.

[Just for kicks, and because it didn't matter in this marked round, I played for the other fairway to the right on my 2nd at the par 5 4th, then knocked a beauty to under 5 feet... but missed the glory putt, lol! 16 straight pars with a lot of near-birdie putts, were followed by 2 practically straight 7 footers, one that went in on #17, and one where I missed the ding horribly on #18.]

James took his pics on the 9th, cos I'd said I might only have time to do 9, so here are some extras I took on the 17th, and the individual versions of the cards, just to (sort of) show no Gimmes were used (which I can guarantee anyway)!

Great to see some more cards for the second round. Like I said, luck(good and bad) is a major factor in playing RSG. The hardest part is letting it slide off your mind and moving on in the round. Having it happen on 18 is just a killer. In practice rounds I've played 18 extremely conservative trying to just get out of there with a par to mixed results.

Another great thing to see is James playing his round with Corwyn. Really funny looking at the difference in avatar fashion between the two.  lol I hope we can get a lot more cards turned in soon as waiting for the weekend seems to end up in some missed pairings and scrambling for markers. If all goes well, BZ and I will be playing our back 9 on RSG Saturday morning and getting ourselves finished off for the second Round.

I'll be looking to mark for anyone at times on Friday. I'll light the green light when I can.

Not sure if I did a score submission for the 1st round, u seem to have it all recorded anyway, so hopefuly all ok.

    Have just done round 2.

11 shot improvement might be tough to beat, LOL

Here is the replay of the shot to #12 at RSG. The wind wasn't a factor , but the lie was nearly 45º left right so I aimed about 30 yards left, off the green, and hit 150.

Brief description of round :- if anyone is interested, which I doubt, started off with a bogey and a double in 1st 3 holes, deep despair was close at hand, but I decided another 80+ round was just not gonna happen, and totally focused on the job in hand. A couple of decent putts, and I was back to level. a 69 was on , but I went up the right side of 18th fairway, which was a mistake, and my 3 wood, perfect distance was just a few feet left of pin and trickled down the hill - bogey.

    What a pi$$er !
