The sad facts are that these types of inconveniences have been the norm since the first wgt open at Bethpage and all subsequent open events. Tradition is nice, but using the stagecoach is not.

In their infinite wisdom and in keeping with their poor customer service WGT will probably offer to replace it with a coupon good for 2 Euros towards the purchase of a Mercedes automobile. :)

A friend of mine who also finished tied 3rd in the VSUO recieved his gift card yesterday.Which ended up going straight in the bin, because on the gift card it actually said if you resided outside of the USA you had to telephone your order through.

I personally feel sorry for all of the quailfiers outside of the USA as they will be basically getting nothing, surely WGT knew this may of been the case, and maybe in the way of a goodwill gesture send all qualifiers maybe a couple of sleeves of balls, just my opinion.

Of course they knew it was the case Russ. The fact is they don't really give a toss.

The gift voucher isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I was pleased last year to get the hat and USGA membership as it was something to keep but if it costs $55 to send it via the post then i'm not surprised they stopped them.

Personally i'd of been happier with 2500cr for qualifying and not the equivalent in a voucher that i will probably never use.

    WGTicon:
if I was shipping personal item, i'd stick it in a bubble mailer and likely cost me $5-10 for a hat.

Why cant you do that?? Not personally but WGT??

    WGTicon:
when customer says they didn't get it, they can check the tracking.

Same for the UK & Europe, worldwide probably too you know, believe it or not outside of the USA its not prehistoric you do realise that!!

Fair point Daz, I'd happily send mine to WGT as an exchange.  What do you think Icon?

Your posts got me thinking Dazza and Dougie, hear me out and debunk it if you want, but how about this for a solution.:-

As we all know the gift cards to all non US  players are pretty much worthless. What about if WGT e-mailed all non US players with their address, and explained if they were to send their gift cards to WGT then WGT would reimburse them with 2,500 credits into their WGT account. No chance i hear you say but here comes the best bit :0)

Even if only 20 players sent in their gift cards that would still be a total of $500 in gift cards. So next WGT can set up a Tournament for US players only, make it a month long Tournament that's also unlimited so imagine the ball sales that this Tournament may generate lol, obviously i was being conservative as to how many players will send in their $25 gift cards to WGT imagine if it was 40+ that's $1,000 in prizes.

So at the end of the day all the non US players, lucky US players who do well in the Tournament and ball sales for WGT(most importantly) means everyones a winner :)

I was always giving mine away anyway due to the shipping cost farce so I'm neither up nor down.

Was it stated you won a $25 gift voucher in the tournament ?

I believe it stated you won a cap if you qualified ... WGT in my eyes should honour this , irrelevant of where your from.

what would it cost WGT to send a box of caps to a european distributor and have them send out the caps individually? Probably a lot less than the $55 per cap.

WGT is advertised as a worldwide site and should step in and sort this in my eyes.

    yes.

therefore wgt are home and dry.

for European beneficiaries they'd be just as well receiving 2 rows of sheep's shyte because that's what the USGA card's worth to them.

postage to the UK is way more than the value on the card.

who in their right mind would get a $20 cap then pay an extra $40+ on top to get it delivered?

no logic there at all. lolol.
